If Lin plays 0 minutes and Beverley scores 40 points and we win, I will be the happiest person on earth. Go Rockets!
ah, I was referring to your disclaimer. I'm not saying he would but Lin could disrupt the momentum we've gained without him in the past 2 games... perhaps by getting double-teamed and giving the ball away. Spoiler
In five games he's shooting 35.5% from field and 12.5% from 3pt land (1/8). But I agree he is a spark plug off bench and helped in two wins.
I've been trying for a while. Unfortunately, reason doesn't get to these blind haters and like ants/cockroaches, no matter how many you kill, how many times we've pointed out their idiocy, they still come back in droves. I'm really getting sick and tired of the immense hatred these people have towards a basketball player, I guess they've got nothin better to do, or they have must some kinda tragic flaw into their character that drives them to the dark side even when they claim that they are some kind of puritans.
Pretty sure Lin can go 4-11 FG 0-3 3PT for 10 points and 3 assists. Only he'd be called garbage for doing so, whereas Brooks apparently played stellar when he put up those numbers last game.
happy to hear he's ready to rock and roll. good call for mchale to keep the squad we're rolling with.
AB for THREE! Lin, $8.4mil Brooks, $2.4mil Lin game 1: 1-7, 4TO Lin game 2: 3-7, 2TO Game 2 wasn't so bad. I'm not a Lin hater.. just getting annoyed by the fans trying so hard to defend him.
ya a lot of them are simply part of the china-bashing brigade. they come out in numbers in the hangout and debate & discussion forums, too. even though lin is actually american, of taiwanese descent, it still makes them feel warm and fuzzy inside all the same to paint him as weak, meek, unathletic, cowardly, nerdy, not well-endowed, etc. and it especially gives them pleasure to do it in the face of his fans, who they deem as chinese or some type of asian, and with the same stereotyped qualities as well. most these posters are actually grown men, but now they still get to re-live their bullying days from junior high on the internet.
not all of us though don't do the same thing they do to you... categorizing and whatnot except LOHs and LOFs... lol
geez what's everyone crying about? delfino's out the minutes have to go somewhere....Garcia and Bev cant play 40 minutes...Bev needs to focus more on D anyway and stop Jackson from getting 20 points again. Put Lin off the bench and if he's good play him longer, if not well back to the bench, nbd. It'll come down to whether or not KD has a 40+ pt game anyway.
Repped. The hate is outrageous. Talk of how Lin hasn't earned or deserve to be a starter. The guy started all 82 games and they want to talk ****e now.
He went 36-7-7 last game and 38-6-8 the game before. Both Rockets wins. We aren't stopping Durant, it's about containing everyone else.
Sigh......good ol' days when discussion and argument meant something, people actually reading. Now is the mob. How do you know they are grown man tho?
That's where you're wrong though. We did stop him as he started to take more good shots away from his team to get his own shot in. But as a result of that, we let people like Fisher and Reggie Jackson stat pad their points since they are pretty wide open. And that is a good thing because you rather leave them the clutch shots than KD the clutch shots. Which is pretty much what happened in the 4th and near the end of 3rd. KD may get his, but as a result of us making him work harder, their defense collapsed and he's forcing shots where usually he would pass out to WB or other people.
I think most Rockets fans dont care if Lin does not start today...Beverley and Brooks have done well in his absence...Infact most everyone thinks that he would best fill the role of Delfino for the time being. Im just sick and tired of this season filled with hate and intense disdain for a person that we havent even known on a personal level, but has shown true passion for the game; sincerity and humbleness to his players and team, and a heart of a champion. These are the reason, I like Lin as a player and as a person. He just seems to take all of this in stride and tries his best... He is definitely not as athletic as Beverley, and not as fast as AB, but he is smart, and knows his limitations...he had a solid season in his very first year as a starter. That was all i wanted from "Linsanity" here in Houston. Contribute, improve your shot, and be timely in your effect for the team. And learn on how to be a PG. However, this hate for Lin, looking at how much he is worth and whether he was worth it is sickening. I never wanted to see a Rockets player fail...You wish that the stars that come to this city can enjoy what Hakeem and a few good men enjoyed...thats what I want... A chance to relieve my early nineties...And several such posters on this thread, just believe this hate to their core...This gets the LOF riled up and its a constant back and forth. In the first time in 4 years, this young ass team got to the playoffs without much experience, and guidance. They are a collective group of humble dudes that made it work. And win or lose tonight, they had a hell of a season. I want this story to continue, but hearing this hate in the midst of a playoff run is irritating, and makes solid fans snap...
