Would it be possible to trade for dwight, take on a bad contract and sign Lee and Lin? ... also asik of he doesn't get matched? Idk but a team with Lin, Lee and Dwight can't be bad. Add in Asik and motiejunas along with other rookies that we keep i think we could be in real good shape. Lol all a dream though..

    Knicks

Could have something to do with what Bima tweeted:

    Maybe? Maybe not. Probably not.

*sigh* this is looking more and more like the Knicks will match. Damn, wanted those Knick fans to feel tortured. Oh well.

Should the Lin signing be a "Make or Break" for Morey?

Okay here we are. We've seen huge setbacks in the draft and even more through free agency. Kyle Lowry, Dragic & Scola will no longer be with us. Though we haven't landed a center piece, Morey's offered a backup center and point guard coming off injury a contract. Though Lin showed flashes last year you can easily make the argument Lowry & Dragic were better overall. At this point, these are ALL Morey moves. He's the mastermind behind this. My question is with the ALL transactions this team has had, should this Jeremy Lin signing be the make or break moment for for Morey? Does Jeremy Lin play determine Morey's tenure here?

Classic. So instead of just coming out and saying they wouldn't match, their little game of hide and seek cost them their Lin replacement and now they are stuck in luxury tax hell and a player who was not "loyal" to them if they match. Edit: welp nvm ^

ESPN is panicking and tweeting petitions for the Knicks to match Lin's offer sheet. Hilarious.

$25m for 3 years of Asian eyeballs, that's practically a bargain. Les isn't gonna complain however Lin turns out.

I wondered that at first, but I just can't see the need to sign Felton if that's the case. Lin and Kidd are more than enough at PG. Sure, you could get creative and play Kidd at the 2 some... but given the length of top East teams like Miami and Brooklyn, I don't know that extreme small-ball is the answer. Especially without D'Antoni. My guess is if the Knicks truly intended on keeping Lin, they'd go after a true wing type (SG/SF) rather than Felton.

    The Carmelo Anthony Effect:

Linsanity started on February 4th, 2012 against Deron Williams and the New Jersey Nets. Jeremy Lin scored 25 points coming off of the bench and he played 32 minutes as a reserve. Carmelo Anthony started and played 35 minutes in that game. Two nights later against the Utah Jazz and matched up against Devon Harris, he was inserted into the starting line-up. That night Jeremy Lin scored 28 points and played 44 minutes while Carmelo Anthony only played 5 minutes.

Over the course of the next 7 games Carmelo Anthony did not play. During the first 9 games of Linsanity, Jeremy Lin scored less than 20 points only once and scored 26 or more points four times with 1 game of 38 points against the Lakers. Carmelo played one game and 5 minutes during that stretch of games. During that stretch of games Lin either outplayed or played equal to John Wall, Deron Williams, Chris Paul, Devon Harris, Jason Kidd, Ricky Rubio and Jose Calderon. The New York Knicks had 8 wins and 1 loss during that stretch, moved themselves into the play-off chase and appeared to have saved the job of Mike D’Antoni.

On February 20th, 2012 and the 10th game of Linsanity, Carmelo Anthony returned to the starting line-up for the rest of the season. Jeremy Lin scored 21 points that night in what was the 2nd loss in a 10 game stretch. During the next 16 games and the remainder of the season, Jeremy Lin would not score more than 20 points in a game and only hit the 20 point mark twice. During the next 10 games with Carmelo in the starting line-up the Knicks would only win 3 of the next 10 games.

On March 14th, 2012 Mike D’Antoni resigned and Mike Woodson took over as head coach. During the last 7 games of Linsanity and the first 7 with Woodson as the head coach, Lin’s turnovers seemed to drop a lot as he had 3 turnovers or less in five of those seven games. Another side effect of Woodson as the head coach ran more of a half court offense and less of a run and gun offense that D’Antoni preferred. While Lin’s turnovers dropped his scoring average also dropped to about 13.2 ppg during that stretch.

It looks like a lot of Lin’s turnover issues were related to the offense that D’Antoni was running but that offense also contributed to Lin’s high scoring average. During the first 10 games of Linsanity and with Carmelo out most of those games Lin’s scoring average was almost 25 ppg.

During the next 9 games of Linsanity and with Carmelo as the primary option on offense again while running D’Antoni’s offense Jeremy Lin’s scoring average dropped to 15.6 ppg.

The Rockets last season ran were a good fast break team but also ran a lot of half court offense. They seemed to be much more balanced in that area than the Knicks. D’Antoni wanted them to push the ball hard every time while Woodson wanted to slow the offense down and put the ball in Carmelo’s hands. There is no Carmelo Anthony on the Houston Rockets and even if we are successful in trading for Dwight Howard he is not the type of ball hog that Carmelo Anthony is. I’m very anxious to see how Lin functions as a Houston Rocket. Jeremy Lin clearly changed his score first mentality when Carmelo was re-inserted into the starting linu-up but was the primary scoring option for the Knicks when Melo was out but Amare was still in.

Lin does not want to play for knicks as Woodson and Melo will destroy his game...

    Kidd will take his minutes
