With Lin and Howard the Rockets would probably get back to the major popularity we had in China when Yao was active. I think the best thing to happen in the pursuit of keeping Howard past this season is the signing of Lin. The endorsements from China will be rolling in like crazy for both of them. With Lin being so beloved it will help wear off onto Howard and get him out of the crap hole he dug for him self. He is a little pricey at 8 mil a season, but he is worth it in many areas other than just PG play.

BINGO! Lin will fill seats while we go through the rebuilding process. I said this in the beggining of this thread: if lin average 19pts 6 assists and 5 rebounds and we only win 30 games, that will give the casual fan hope of superstar potential.

Why couldnt he get those numbers here, is not like anyone is going to complain about him taking shots.

All the while we will get potentially 2 top 10 picks next year. This is all with the assumption that howard is not here next year.

 

What's even worse is he'll be a LOF, hating on Howard at all times.
