Great post, tefunk. I love Synergy and the way it dispels conventional wisdom all the time.

Had no idea that Lin was so terrible in transition. I remembered a lot of bad passes on the fast break leading to turnovers. But I didn't know the overall impact of that on his transition game. Also didn't know that the pick-and-roll was actually one of Jeremy's LEAST efficient plays, especially with the way that everyone had labeled him as a "pick-and-roll PG."

On the other hand, I didn't know that Jeremy was so good at iso plays, and shooting off the dribble. Tenth LOWEST turnover rate on iso? 3rd best in the league at shooting off the dribble? Wow.

Also found it a pleasant surprise to see that by the numbers, Jeremy's defense is in the top third of the league.

I don't thknk lin is a fraud, but I would have a very hard time giving him the contract morey gave him. Posters are gidd about the backloaded deal, but what happens if he's underperforming wth the rockets and they want or need to dump him? Jmo,we will see.

I don't really understand your point. He's still an Asian-American. And that matters to people. Just like how Kenya celebrated when Obama, and an American who is only half-Kenyan, was elected President.

What are you talking about? It's a reasonable $5 million for the first two years, which becomes a $15 million expiring contract in the third.

You know some people can't help but say things like that. Its sad but unfortunately its true. And it might be one of the reasons why we pushed so hard for Lin in the first place. Last year was the first official year that Yao wasn't on the team, despite playing only 6 games (correct me if I'm wrong) the previous year and none for year before that. Les' money train from China might have been drying out and he's had it for 10 years, and that's gotta be a hard thing for a rich man to just let go of. Lin will do as PG. He's not the greatest, but he's young and with time and experience, he'll get better, especially with his turnovers. I was intrigued by him 2 years ago, simply because he came out of Harvard, and a little because he's Asian (I can't act like that wasn't part of it). But a lot of people fail to realize that he's Asian in descent ONLY. He's as American as any of us.

No, it's 8.3 mil a year for us, 5-5-15 for the Knicks.

Don't really understand how all of you can't see this is a HYPE move. The Rockets are doing what they have always done. They are finding something to put fans in the seats. This isn't a basketball move, it's a money move. We just got rid of 2 far better point guards for a 1 hit wonder. Now they will give up everything we have for Howard. Did you all forget that the All-Star game will be in Houston this year. This is all this is about. Once Howard leaves next year, we will have no draft picks to rebuild with and be stuck with Lin for 2 more years. The future is dim at best.

Lin is also a lot of efficient points in the paint, as well as steal waiting to happen. He's not getting the max. He's getting a modest backloaded deal that turns him into an enticing expiring contract even if he doesn't pan out.

I don't think its a big deal. Yes, he'll be overpaid for 1 season no matter what he does...but for the first 2 years its a very reasonable contract. Chances are, we'd only be overpaying for 1 year. We'd be spending that money somewhere anyways.

I'm hoping he's trade bait after Dec/Jan 15. If he's traded by the Rockets, his contract is structured the same way for the other team, 8.4/8.4/8.4.

This is hilarious. New York is full of **** and so is the mainstream sports media. First they say they will match ANYTHING even a BILLION dollars. Linn will e their starting PG. Then they get upset that we feed them a poison pill. Now they realize they are ****ed and all you are hearing is how he is a fraud and Houston made a mistake offering a guy with so little experience 25 million dollars.

Haha admit it, Morey stuck it in and broke it off. Now they are all acting like little b****es that got their skirts blown up in front of a crowd. I love it. Guarantee that once it is final you will hear story after story about the great NY Knicks are to smart to pay Lin that kind of money.

This only applies to the cap right? It doesn't make sense otherwise.

    Watch the video again,
Lin's rotational speed is slightly slower than DRose.

    Clearly.;)
