Need to see his later tweet-- he thinks the Felton deal may have been torpedoed by the effect on their caphold that was caused upon (contructive?) delivery of the Lin offer. This is also a possible partial explanation of why Grunwald turned into Waldo yesterday.

I don't trust East Coast Media. The Knicks front office have been acting like spoil brats since the Rockets made changes to Lin offer. They will wait till the last minute to finally come up with a nay or yay on Lin's contract.

Wow 3 days of torture vs blowing up your whole teams cap structure and huge luxury tax hit - sure showed us Knicks.

Man WTF? All indications are that the Howard offer is a great deal for the Rockets. One bad contract, one draft pick, one rookie. Plus Martin. And the basis of your point is ... ?

    Bima -

Regarding your last tweet, what you say makes sense from a salary cap perspective.

But how do you reconcile that from a basketball perspective. If you intend to match Lin, why get Felton?

I thought they might play all three of them, but none of them are combo guard types.

Also, they have Shumpert and JR Smith.

From a bball perspective, getting both Felton and Lin doesn't make sense. Also, my sense is that Woodson aint all that excited about Lin. I think he's looking to have a more traditional offense with Melo and Stat.

Why would they even bother when the genuine article exists?

He is saying once they got the offer for Lin, the effect on their caphold would not allow them to SnT for Felton. So if they weren't going to match, they would have just declined and then traded for Felton, as opposed to ducking the offer sheet. Correct?

Well, if they declined the offer sheet, they would not be able to make us wait the 3 days then. Maybe that was the reason why they were hiding.

Yeah, that photoshop from the NYPost is one of the worst jersey fits I've ever seen. LOL.

I never felt the Knicks would let Lin leave but they have now added Felton and Kidd and are facing severe financial consequences... So it sure looks like Alexander will get his wish and have Lin in a Rockets jersey.

I would rather read Jonathan's work then any Rockets writer in the last 10 years easily. A real 'reporter' not rumor instigator.

Okay, maybe I am just slow, but I still don't understand how it makes sense from a salary cap perspective.

If they wanted to make us wait the 3 days AND still be able to SnT for Felton, they had to avoid the offer sheet. If they just wanted to SnT for Felton, they could have just declined. So... seems like they wanted to make us wait. What does that have to do with matching or not matching Lin?

they may be pissed but i am sure the Knicks are more worried about getting their house in order and doing what is best for their team rather than having a laugh with Morey.

Knicks don't talk much and will probably just be quiet.

I think if the will match Lin it will not happen until the last moment as they will consider all their options.

Exactly. Oh noes, we have to wait 72 hours to find out. Meanwhile, the Knicks will be dealing with the fallout from either decision they make for the next 72 months.

I can't see them matching after putting all this negative press out about him going behind their backs to tell Hou they would match the prior offer, thus increasing it. They are making it out as him "crossing Dolan" and betraying the Knicks. That doesn't sound like something they would let leak about someone they want to bring back. More like cutting ties, burning bridges, and damage control. Oh, and then there's that whole thing about already having 3 PGs on their roster.

What if the Knicks match the contact offer to Lin?

What ever happened to Jermaine Taylor? Or Ish Smith and Von Wafer? Would they be cheaper alternatives, granted that they still play basketball?
