Just wanted to point something out:

If things go down as we're hoping, our team will be built around a former Orlando Magic superstar and hugely marketable Asian sensation, both with injury histories.

00's take two? Can we win a championship THIS time?

It's not like there was any legit chance before, Mcgrady was never enough efficent scorer. That's why he has never passed the first round.

Look I definitely prefer Dragic to Lin but he wanted a player option and our front office wasn't willing to do that. He's gone, let's move on. Same with Lowry who hated it here. What other exciting PG is left for us to get? I don't want to watch Douglas or Fortson at the helm operating our offense. I assume we're going to be rebuilding anyway, we're going to lose a lot of games..at least this way we get some recognition, probably some national games (0 last season), fans in the strands (28th in the league last season), and money pouring in. We can develop him with he rest of the rookies and 2nd years. We're so far under the cap anyway.

Why would you assume that? Looks like better than 50% chance we get Dwight Howard in the next week.

I was told that he will make Rockets 3rd seed along with Dwight Howard in the West and that Rockets will beat anybody in the playoffs except Lakers, because of the matchups.

You're pretty much just straight-up lying at this point about what I said.

What I actually said is that we'd be in the 3-5 seed range and would be evenly matched with any contender except the Lakers.

    F***ing troll.

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. Maybe we'll get a chance to find out.

Regardless, I'd rather be delusional than a liar and a troll.

Dude your getting way a head of yourself. Just relax.

Lets first see how things unfold with Lin and Asik, first. Before you start assuring everybody were getting Howard.

No need for another jopatmc on this forum.

That actually doesn't matter that much. It might modify the structure of the deal a little bit--MAYBE giving up 1 more asset and taking back 1 less bad contract--but even if we get both of them, it wouldn't scuttle trade talks.

Keep in mind we can take back two bad contracts even if we get both Lin & Asik.

This is very exciting. and after watching two games of Fortson and Machado, damn we need a point guard. I too have reservations with Lin's contract. At $8.25 mil it's a little rich, but i actually liked the contract at $7.5 mil, it's hard to say it's "terrible" value.

As far as the Dragic-Lin debate goes; yes Dragic is a better player, but he's also 2+ years older. Lin is actually a better pure point guard. His court vision is impressive; whereas i think Dragic is far more athletic and versitile. Hard not to get excited about Lin's potential, and Houston-Linsanity. I like having a "good guy" leading the charge out there. One thing's for sure: Lin will come to work every night!

Morey really played this one beautifully. BTW: as someone who lived in New York for many years and still has a lot of friends up there, I can tell you that Knicks' fans are livid with Morey. I freaking love it!

There have been a few questions regarding Lin's cap position if he were to be traded:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Whatever it was for the trading team. RT @<a href="https://twitter.com/Fcknsshole">Fcknsshole</a>: what happens if Lin is traded after 2 years? What's his cap hit in that third year?</p>&mdash; Larry Coon (@LarryCoon) <a href="https://twitter.com/LarryCoon/status/224328598222413824" data-datetime="2012-07-15T02:24:40+00:00">July 15, 2012</a></blockquote>
    <script src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

This tells me that if Lin is traded the cap hit is the same as the Rockets would have had e.g. 8 million. This is good news as it makes him all the more trade-able for CP3 :)

First of all, Dragic is with Phoenix so please move on.

To everyone who doesn't want Lin on this team, who are you all planning to start at PG this coming season? Fortson? Machado? Brooks? Yeah good luck with that cause Dwight would be so thrilled playing with a point guard who sucks more than Jameer and would want to get out of Houston soon enough.
