I don't understand this quote, is he saying he didn't expect us to offer so much? Or he didn't expect NY to bring back Felton?

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>"(Lin) loves the New York fans.He did not see this happening. He sounded surprised on the phone,”Lin's high school Peter Diepenbrock told Y!</p>&mdash; Marc J. Obviously, you didn't get the reference =P

He did do that, no doubt about it. But the east is weak, and I'd just rather spend the money elsewhere. His box score was good, the W's they had were good, but he is not efficient, just isn't.

Yeah I meant to include Martin... it's basically a given at this point that he must be included in any Howard trade

I think he really thought NY would match anything and expected to be in a Knicks uniform next year.

Seems more like the Knicks possibly not matching which includes Felton. Knicks were the ones who wanted Lin to test the market.

First round exit at best. Maybe not even playoffs, if Howard didn't play, because he would be "injured" or had no motivation.

The only 3 things Morey cares about:

    1. Swinging at every superstar available
    2. Not getting stuck with bad contracts
    3. Efficient players

    Morey signed this guy twice.

If Lin is as inefficient as you say, I don't think Morey would have played this many games to get him.

Not better team than OKC, Spurs, Lakers or Clippers. So you are not getting past first round. Then you have Grizzlies who got better overall team, Nuggets, Mavs and Love got way better supporting cast in Minnesota.

Ummm okay...Rockets clearly choked away their playoff spot last year. If that team could be above .500, then the lineup I put down is good for a top 4 seed.

You are clearly delusional. This isn't East. Pretty much every team on the West got legit center for Howard.

Any team with an elite center is a BAD matchup for most of those teams. Like, scary bad. The only team out of those which might have a significant edge on us is the Lakers, and that depends on how an aging Nash/Kobe/Gasol trio play. Those three will be declining pretty rapidly over the next 2 or 3 years.

For the record (you can remember I said this and bookmark it if you want) I think that a team with a starting lineup of Lin/Lamb/Parsons/Motiejunas/Howard would fall in the range of 3rd to 5th seed.

Wait so you are saying that this team would beat any other team in the playoffs except Lakers?

I don't know where it falls, but I love it. Whereever it falls, that's where it falls. But the possiblities are exciting..and it's been a long time since I could say that about a Rockets starting 5.
