Does anyone think that somehow Lin is going to get into the all-star game if he has a decent start to the season? (At least 18/10)
    Houston needs an all-star.
He could even make it into the skills challenge since we're hosting (although, I think he'll bomb that LOL)

Every other board is trashing the Rockets' offseason and this whole "swallowing our own poison pill" Lin situation. This is the only place where it's accepted lol.

I'm mostly joking, but all Yao had to do to be an All Star was roll out of bed in the morning and get dressed.

I think with Lin NYC is seriously thinking if he's worth it. THey have Camby, they have Kidd, they have Melo and they have Amare. All those guys fit in with Woodson's ISO-dominated offense. Lin? Not so much, he's much better in a PHX style of play or our own 70% PNR/30% do what you want offense.

Sure that's a lot of money but Dolan can afford to match it. The question though is do they think Lin's worth all that trouble? They already have backup Pablo Prigriony and if they traded for Felton in a SNT then Lin would be the 4rth pg (ironic since he was our fourth pg last time LOL). The difference is he was making an unguaranteed salary before and now he'll cause NY up to 60$M in year 3. LOL I'm excited, we might end up with both Lin and Asik. Dwight who?

He could go into the 3 point shootout - he apparrently hits about 70% from 3 point range from 3s in drills according to his shooting coach

Because we want Lin as bad as a guy that can't get it up needs a distraction.

Rockets are trying to recreate Yao Ming by fusing Lin and Howard

LMAO they're just jelly they didn't think of it. Honestly I have no idea what the original intent for that provision was, but DM and his crew turned it into a lethal weapon until the next CBA.

Its like having Bruce Bowen on your team, everybody else hates him, but the Spurs go on and retire his jersey.

Uh, probably because other boards are too ignorant to understand the concept of a "poison pill". It is only detrimental to the cap of the team matching, and affects our own books completely differently. Lin with his current production is only slightly overpaid at $8M per. Factor in we have ZERO PGs on the roster and it was worth it to overpay anyways. Factor in his upside and he could easily outperform his contract ala Lowry. Factor in off the court and it is a freakin' steal.

I want them to match in the worst of ways. Lin has 3 major flaws to his game. A) He can not go left, he is just unable to do it. 2) His TO's per 36 were stunningly bad, that HAS to go down significantly. And D) (if u get the reference, kudos) His defense is atrocious, it just is.

Now, if you like PG's who are 1 dimensional, turn the ball over frequently, and don't play D.....then Lin is your man. Personally (whether he does bad, decent, good or great), I'd rather save the 8.5 mil/y in cap room

West has CP3, Kobe, Westbrook, Parker, Nash, and maybe a healthy Gordon this year (starting guards are voted in regardless of being a PG/SG, same with forwards).

Don't think so. (the china vote won't be as prevalent as with Yao IMO because Lin isn't a homegrown countryman, and I'd rather see all-stars get voted in who deserved it anyways)

Im going to have some wet dreams about a possible lineup of:

    Lin
    Lamb
    Parsons
    DMo
    Howard

Odds are low, I know, but we're talking about wet dreams here...

And the vast majority of NBA franchises would be raking in money from New York and Chicago, thanks to the Houston Rockets. A lot of people just don't understand what Morey is attempting to do. Hell, it wasn't long ago that we didn't know this "poison pill" existed. While things could still not turn out the way we're hoping, the "poison pill" has been a dramatic change. Morey has turned the league on its head.

If we can get both these guys, great things are on the horizon for the Rockets...

Why do people say he can't go left - when I can find videos showing him going left, and commentators making a point of it :/
