Knicks trading for Felton pretty much showed their hand

Worse than Machado, Fortson and Douglas?

    Gotta disagree.

    Worse, possibly. Only marginally.

But we saved a lot of money because of the Arenas rule that would not have applied to Dragic.

But we will generate interest around the league. Get the public recognition...get the superstar...and then watch players around the league consider Houston as a destination.

This is a start to something beautiful...and for only 8 million a year.

hey, so you are saying we sign Lin + Asik then trade them to Orlando?

First thing, I don't think you can trade players you just signed. Need to wait 90 days or something like that.
Second, there's no way they trade Lin, if we somehow got him. The franchise made tons of money from Yao, and other players also benefited(shoe deals), if we get Lin, the same thing will happen.
Third, even if this thing you proposed would've worked, HOW WOULD DWIGHT HOWARD THINK? He'll basically play with his old teammates minus R.Anderson, who in my opinion are one of the brighter spots from last year's Magic roster.
How can Houston build around Dwight with those kind of salary commitment to overvalued players? AND DWIGHT WOULD RE-SIGN HERE??

Yeah you can open up a simulator and show everything you want to say, I have nothing against that, but sometimes there are more than just matching the salary.

Dude, look at Goran's contract and look at Lin's contract.

Realize the different rules and implications that apply to both, and how they affect the Rockets' cap situation.

Then complain (if you still want to, which you won't).

That isn't what I said AT ALL. Read what I actually said. I said we would be WELL BELOW the salary cap even with Howard + Asik + Lin + Richardson + Davis.

You would think that with all the information present on this site, that people would get a better understanding of what the Rockets are doing.

Gogi's deal is for 4 years with a player option in the 4th. The Rockets would not do a 4th year player option. Lin's deal is only 3 years.

Jeremy Lamb: You know what you look like to me, with your good bag and your cheap shoes? You look like a rube. A well scrubbed, hustling rube with a little taste. Good nutrition's given you some length of bone, but you're not more than one generation from poor white trash, are you, ObamaFan? And that accent you've tried so desperately to shed: pure West Virginia. What is your father, dear? Is he a coal miner? Does he stink of the lamp? You know how quickly the boys found you... all those tedious sticky fumblings in the back seats of cars... while you could only dream of getting out... getting anywhere... getting all the way to Clutchfans!

You do have to factor that the rookies already affect the cap and all empty roster spots use minimum salaries towards the cap.

I still think we can get something done though, just alters how many contracts we can take back, but we would probably add another rookie or pick to the Magic.
