Not sure if the Rockets 'win' here, but you lose, Knicks.

Does anyone with understanding of the cap know if we can still get Howard if we obtain both Lin and Asik? Or if its just Lin?

We still can trade for Howard with both Asik and Lin on the roster. It just limits us in how many bad contracts we can take on.

    http://tracking.si.com/2012/07/15/knicks-close-to-obtaining-raymond-felton/

The New York Knicks search for a point guard may be over. The Knicks are looking to obtaining guard Raymond Felton from the Portland Trail Blazers in a sign-and-trade deal, reports Yahoo! Sports.

Felton has played eight seasons in the NBA, including five with the Charlotte Bobcats, and spent a year each with the Knicks, Denver Nuggets and Trail Blazers.

Felton averaged 11.4 points and 6.5 assists per game last season. The Knicks are still deciding on whether to match the offer sheet that guard Jeremy Lin signed with the Houston Rockets.

If this in any way hinders our ability to offer 2 max contracts next summer this deal is an EPIC FAIL. If not.....I still think it's a reach at that money but no big deal.

A little over 8mil for Lin per year isn't that bad at all. The Gilbert Arenas clause is so flawed!

How does Lin (if he does) affect our chances on Dwight?

    Mark Haggard ‏@allzoner

Just got off the phone with NBA free agent Raymond Felton. He says a deal is about to be completed sending him back to the NY Knicks.

I'm guessing the star power and attention that Lin gets would be attractive to Dwight long term.

I don't know what it does in terms of affecting our ability to trade for him.
