This will turn out to be a very bad deal for Houston. I know they have no real PG on the roster but I am sure this will be eating into our potential cap space next summer when we should be able to offer 2 max contracts.

If we tank and suck this year and get a top 3 pick (which with this roster seems very possible) we could draft a Shabazz Muhammad (currently #3 on nbadraft.net) and still offer 2 max deals to UNRESTRICTED FA Josh Smith and Al Jefferson. Then we can take advanage of a Joe Johnson situation and add another peice once we are over the cap (but under the luxury tax line). What if Memphis decides to cut lose of Rudy Gay for Parsons, expirings, and say the Raptors #1.....our lineup could look like this next season

    PG ???
    SG Shabazz Muhammad
    SF Rudy Gay
    PF Josh Smith
    C Al Jefferson

With this signing I am HOPING this doesnt damage our ability to offer the two max deals.

I would love to have Lin to go along with our new young players. He's young, their young, they would be a fun bunch to watch grow up. Not really interested in Howard, but this could make him want to stay if we get him.

That's if any of this is true.

I see FIsolaNYDN just tweeted mentioned Felton talks. Felton's rep is here at UNLV. Glen Grunwald is not, in case anyone's looking for him.

    Frank Isola ‏@FisolaNYDN
As Knicks wait for Jeremy Lin offer sheet they have had talks with (cheaper alternative) Raymond Felton. The plot thickens

If Knicks sign Felton, could they really need Jeremy Lin, too?

Report in NC that Raymond Felton reached agreement with Knicks untrue. Knicks, Felton's rep are talking, source close to discussions said.

If Knicks pass on Lin they could do a sign and trade with Portland for Raymond Felton

I think if you put everything together, this is what Knicks are doing: The reason they're avoiding the Rockets and offer sheet is to get more time to talk to Raymond Felton to see if they can sign him for small contract to the point where it wouldn't cost too much to sign him and Lin. Or if they should just sign Felton and let Lin go. Either way the Knicks have somewhat **** slapped the Rockets back now. But in a b**** kinda way.

Knicks wont sign both felton and lin because they already have Kidd and then the Argentina guy. They don't stockpile pg like we stockpile pfs
