We already did... Need NY to match quickly and then can give sheet to Asik... Should know both before next weekend.

There is about a 5% chance NY doesnt match...

All indications are that they are going to match. Feigan mentioned that he expects them to match too.

Incarcerated Bob is just guessing. He's no more connected than you or me. He's hoping that he'll look more credible once NYK matches. Look at how much BS "breaking news" he's floated around in the past.

Admittedly, NYK will probably match, but I wouldn't rely on anything he says. As my coach used to say, "an empty wagon makes a lot of noise."

I fully 100% expect them to match his offer, but Incarcerated Bob is NOT an insider. He posts TONS of rumors that are rarely true, but he often puts his firmest language on ones that anyone could guess would happen.

"My inside sources say it's 100% that Kevin McHale will return next season as head coach"

    "See! I have good sources!"

Guaranteeing a match is a ploy the knicks used to prevent other teams from making an offer and it worked. No other teams other than the rockets made an offer despite the paucity quality point guards available. Too bad it's backfiring on the Knicks.

He's been right before. I thought some may be interested in seeing it. I agree to the extent that it's not new thread worthy, but I don't think his stuff should be banned altogether.

The marketing aspect to the Jeremy Lin situation sort of makes it a basketball decision in the sense that it helps the Rockets become a larger market team, therefore increasing our ability to attract superstar free agents.

Marketing Lin with Howard together increases the possibility Howard resigns.
    That's a basketball decision,

Morey ****ed up. He should have made the revised offer sheet known only after NYK made it's decision on matching Lin's pal Landry Fields's own back paced deal ($5m, 5m, 10m, I think). If they bring Fields back, then the $14.9M third yr on Lin becomes even more expensive.:).

Maybe that's why they haven't gotten an offer sheet -- Morey waiting on them to make Fields' decision.

The NY Times came out that they're probably matching. All the NY media habve been following suit, even Berman/NY Post.

If the Knicks were smart they'd have told the media they wouldnt match the original 30m/4yr contract, then done the opposite upon receiving it. That or simply give Lin the max before making him get an outside offer. The increases in their financial figures over the past year should have implored them to quickly lock him up to a contract instead of trying to save a few million bucks, and ultimately putting themselves in a lose/lose situation with the Rockets.

Or Morey and Lin are busy staging Lin getting photographed naked with a swastika tattoo on his crotch doing coke in his hotel room at the Golden Nugget with Royce White, Chandler Parsons and a 6'6" 300lb transsexual hooker who is riding Morey like a pony.

This is about the only way to make sure NYK doesn't match.

My sister, who hasn't gone to a Rockets game in 10 years just texted me that if we get Lin, she'll start watching the Rockets and go their games...I can see now why we're offering him so much more money than Dragic...
