So much for all those articles about a "wink wink" agreement between the teams regarding the Camby trade.

The way the Lin offer was changed, it matches the offer to Asik.

The Rockets improved the offer because of the need at the point, but also to make it a bit tougher to match $14.9 mil in year 3. (Was $9.3).

Lin offer sheet did indeed change from previously reported four-year, $28M offer. Rockets really backloaded year three.

Rockets bumped up offer to Lin by fully guaranteeing all three years, worth $25.1 million. Previously, third year partially guaranteed.

Still expect NY to match, but this just makes it tougher on them financially in yr 3.

One thing I know for sure now is that the rockets regret not signing dragic to that 4 year 30 million dollar contract considering what they have just offered LIN.

Morey is still playing poker and the young Magic GM is sitting back taking notes.

Yeah I would agree, damn. It really looks like they just botched the Dragic negotiations unless Morey just isn't high on Dragic long term.

I had the odd thought that if Chicago and NY both match, Rockets trade for Howard, Howard walks....Chicago and NY could be in a bidding war to Houston take back Asik or Lin....Don't want this scenario, but it would be funny.

Actually...it's worse than I originally thought for NY. Initially I said they would have $76m committed to 4 players in Lin's third year. That didn't include Novak's deal which is probably going to be at least another 3.5-4m in that year. So they'd have $80m or so committed to 5 players. I dunno...that's going to be really hard for them to match, I really hope they don't.

You would think so. Some have noted that DM just doesn't like player options because they cause planning headaches, but I fail to see how it would be a huge deal?

    Was Goran 4 years, $34 million? That's $8.5 a year.

Morey probably told the Knicks: "Look at this great offer-sheet I'll sign Lin to. It's a gift for you guys. Only fair to ask for Douglas, Harrellson and two second rounders for a guy we're going to lose anyway"
Knicks: "Alright, fine. Thanks for given Lin this bargain of a deal."

Dragic can't make "the Rockets" aka - Les Alexander as much $$$ as Lin in a Rockets uniform.

Not suprised...Rockets really need to "put cheeks in the seats"....

Getting D12 + Lin + Allstar year will def make both happen

Its a money and popularity move.

no sure, there isnt a big difference in the numbers

    Dragic 7.5 m per year
    Lin 8.3 per yer

the shorter contract is better for the rockets because I am sure LIn wont make thaat much on the next contract he signs.....

    @ChrisMannixSI

Wouldn't surprise me if NYK waits full three days to match Lin's sheet. Rockets just screwed w/their cap. Waiting screws HOU a little, too

So we won't be making any trades for Dwight and his teammates until Monday?
