    If Chi and NYK match, you have saddled them with terrible cap situations. If not you have cheap pg and center for 2 years and expiring contracts in year three.

    How about we just pick up Iverson for the league minimum. Is he still alive? Anyone know?

    The problem with that game is what comes around goes around and Houston isn't in a position to take "what goes around". Ownership is a tight community and if you start costing fellow owners money, just to cost them money, you're going to get a bad reputation around the league and those big market owners are eventually going to make you reap the whirlwind. Chicago and NY generate enough revenue to function in a salary cap.

    What happens when Houston gets good and Chicago and NY settle accounts with Houston's payroll?

    This seems like a waste and there really is no way to explain it any other way than as a mistake. The Rockets have botched their PG situation over the past 12 months.

    To be fair to them, the Rockets aren't the first team to screw up.

    Offers become official on the 11th and they will have 3 days from then. So July 14th or 15th you will know for sure depending on how slow the reporting is by the NBA.
