I thought I read one somewhere that said something along the lines of Carmelo calls Rockets offer to Lin "ridiculous"

    or something like that

I swear, Houston is THE most underrated city in the whole darn country.

NOBODY makes shows that take place here--and when they do, they're niche shows like "Houston Medical" and "Animal Cops: Houston." Good shows, but they won't attract a big audience.

Ever see Superman 2? Sometimes I wonder if the writers had General Zod attack Houston just to spite us.

For crying out loud, we have more people living here than in Philadelphia--yet THAT city has so many shows and movies take place there.

You're right. I checked that petition about eight hours ago, and the max WAS 100,000.

    Those bastards moved the goalposts.

I'm starting to think they'll match. From what I've read on the financial figures, if they're to be believed, I'd expect them to match and then figure out the cap situation later. At a minimum, match and then field trade offers for him in the first year. More than likely, they'd just trade players away to lessen the coming luxury tax penalty. I could see them trying to move your Novaks, Kidds, Feltons, even possibly Stoudemire or Carmelo. Everyone knows Lin is bigger than each of them.

I think you misread it. It was probably 10k.

Nope, I'm absolutely certain. It was one hundred thousand signatures for the goal.

They changed it because, at the time I read it, it had about 8900 signatures--which meant there was no way they would reach the original goal.

    more than 52 mils

He did. MSG stocks shot up during the Linsanity, not to mention MSG get a cable deal because of him. Just these two, Lin make more than 52 mils for the team, and thats not counting the additional merchandises sales around the world.

I looked at the page a couple days ago and remember seeing 1k out of ~10k signatures and thinking that 10k shouldn't be very hard to get at all.

Being that it's 2:45AM in New York, I doubt they "JUST matched".
