wow, it is torture. Still 24 hours to go.

NBA should change the rule so that team only has 24 hours to match.

Hope Lin ended up a Rocket.

Melo: "It was ridiculous for them to do what they did, as far as throwing that out there and making it tougher on us to sign him back."

    Seriously Melo,,,,seriously??? Man he's a tard x 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

That comment rates right up there with Snookies " I don't eat lobsters because they are alive when they kill them" Quote as one of the stupidest things anyone has ever said.

Felton signed a guaranteed three-year deal with a fourth-year player option that could make the contract worth about $18 million overall.

Lin rocket jerseys are now being made.... in China...

the machines have been turned on.. expect 100,000 made in next 2 hours

To be honest, my initial thought when the Melo quote came out about it being a ridiculous contract...I took that as he was saying the Rockets made it "ridiculous" to match...not that he was saying it was ridiculous for Lin to get that kind of money. Because, at the end of the day, its only 8 million per year...and plenty of less deserving NBA players make more than that. Everyone just sees Melo in a bad light to begin with, so any comment is taken negatively at first glance.

If Hakeem was in Melo's shoes right now and he made that exact same comment, the majority of people would interpret it differently.

MAN... I'm playing NBA2K12 with Lin and Howard & Josh Smith and its a defensive game... I'll let you all know of the final stats after the game is done.

*Dwight Howard drove on Earl Boykins and made an up and under shot towards the basket! LOL...

Is he? I've no clue who he is.

Either way they're starting to seem A LOT more optimistic over there on the Knicks RealGM board.

Felton's contract is apparently 3 years with 4th year players option. Total is $18 million if he exercises the players option. More good news for us?

    I would think so.

Hard to imagine them giving a fourth year player option to someone they were signing "just for insurance".

But, it is Dolan..... we'll know this time tomorrow.

Unless they have given Lin assurances that they are that is dumb. Hearing your teammates say they will resent you and think you are being over paid is not good for the Knicks future team chemistry. If they are really trying to troll the Rockets the joke is on them. I honestly don't think Morey cares that much if he gets Lin or not because he never really planned on it.

Then we end up getting a higher lottery pick.

This is not correct. The most the Knicks could possibly pay Felton in a S&T for Jeffries and Gadzuric (the foreign guys' draft rights count as $0 in trade) is a four-year, $14.86 million deal.

The $18 million contract was only possible if the Knicks were below the luxury tax "apron". They are not, especially after taking delivery of the Lin offer sheet.

I believe Jason Quick (Blazers beat writer?) later reported that it was a three-year deal worth $10.5 million, which DOES work under the cap.

I think this was just a case of an article failing to update previously incorrect information.

And Bima has been pretty confident they are matching, by the way.

Maybe confident wasn't the right word. FELT they were going to match might be more appropriate.

I had thought I saw a Bima tweet about the three year deal. Guess I got excited seeing the article on the fourth year option. I was going to ask Bima if he still thought they'd match...lol. So much for that question!

By "pretty confident", I hope you mean that the odds I'm giving New York matching are about 70%.

I'm not steadfast in my view of a match. I just think it's more likely they match than not.

Chris Rock is right. Melo and J.R. Smith should just keep their stupid comments to themselves for is Lin is signed back by NY, what kind of lockeroom are they going to have? A posoinous one.
