    Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Melo was asked after tonight's game about his characterization of Lin's contract as being "ridiculous." Here's his answer in next tweet.

    Rod Boone ‏@rodboone
Melo: "It was ridiculous for them to do what they did, as far as throwing that out there and making it tougher on us to sign him back."

    Christ what a little b****.

When it costs you 50+ mil (in taxes the 3rd year) to get back at someone, it's not really trolling.

The thing is, dolan has the history of notgiving a crap about luxury tax and lin is his golden goose.

Not like lin couldn't be traded before that third year anyway. This is still the NBA, not like r****ded decisions are a rarity.

True. But it's a new age luxury tax and also has real basketball ramifications as well. I still don't see Dolan caring that much though. However, if you can believe the rumors, Dolan thinks his goose tried to **** on him instead of laying a golden egg, with the whole lack of "loyalty" thing.

Dolan lost more money today in the stock market when MSG dipped 8% than he would have paying Lin's entire contract.

It looks increasingly like the Knicks won't match though, the incessant leaks and now taking his jersey off the site.

I do hope that he is petty enough to do that. For some reason, knicks fans are positive theyll match though. Im currently reading their realgm board and after melo's backtracking comments, they seem to be very optimistic that lin will join them again next season.

after reading the realgm ny forum, it looks like the consensus (with a couple melo homers hating on lin)is they will match.

I'm feeling bummed. He's a better fit for the Rockets. Woodson has no creativity, it's all day errrdaaaay ISO.

I don't know how legit this source is, but:

    NBA Updates@TheNBA_Insider

@robinlundberg My source close to #NBA agent @msgsports Robert Montgomery says the #knicks have indicated to @JLin7 that they will match!

Apparently, reading further through the forum, it appears it's a fake account.

Their optimism is hanging onto the words of the guy that said he didnt ask a trade from denver and not having to do anything with mda resignation. Heres to hoping hes lying again.
