They can't amnesty Amare. They've already used it... on Billups.

edit: Damn, that was fast! :-D-

And all the negative press about him the past 24 hours will magically be erased from existence.

    Well, crap.

Any chance that the Knicks could move Amare to a team that's starved for a max type player? I suspect not. I don't see how the Knicks could get CP3 then, which makes him irrelevant in the Lin decision.

However, what is relevant is the fact that the Knicks don't have an alpha male, and as constructed, with Lin, they are a first round out. I think the Nets have a significantly better squad.

In typical New York fashion. But they still can't take back what Marshmellow and JR has already said about Lin. It's clear they don't want him on the Knick's roster. It would make for an awkward locker room if they do match the offer.

The problem with the Knicks is that they think Carmelo is an alpha male. The reality is the Knicks are a losing team with Carmelo as the alpha male, with or without Lin. But as the Linning streak showed, the Knicks can be a winning team with Lin as the alpha male.

You know how it is in NY, they'll easily forget the negative things. Jeremy Lin will too.

I wonder if there is any team out there that would trade for Amare of Melo? I wouldn't.

Not just a billionaire owner but a billionaire owner with a violent tempter who "battled drug and alcohol problems......throughout his early adult life."

Some GM's have their vices. For Mauri, It's 6'8''-6'9'' PFs. For Grizwald, it's mediocre PGs.

LOL where do you get that number from? freaking knicks just gave steve novak 4 mil a year for the next few years to just stand outside and shoot 3's for like 15 minutes off the bench.
