The sad thing is that this same contract might be also offered to Dragic.

based on how much Lin made for the Knicks, they will for sure match

Agreed... if anything, the Knicks are probably thanking Morii for the contract offer... I suspect they were anticipating a more painful contract to match. The Knicks won't even flinch at agreeing to this one.

That is Les's plan to make more money to make up for the empty seats ;).

Seriously though, We have better odds of Howard staying on than we do of NY not matching even if they had as many PGs signed on as we have PFs.

Saved NY from the pain of negotiating. They are not afraid of any tax and he does bring in revenue.

So, people are howling about the offer being too reasonable now and were howling when the rumored offer were too high?

Anyhow, this is the highest offer Lin got in the market. Some team that is not the Knicks to give it to him due to the CBA. Maybe there is only a 2% chance NYK don't match, but so what? It is no skin off HOU's back. No worse off than they were before making the offer.

Source said Jeremy Lin was briefly worried today that Houston would pull offer off the table as they haggled over $ #knicks

Except that the last year is a team option. Goran wanted a player option.

Risk for Rockets (and Knicks) is minimized by that 4th-year team option. If Lin went bust, team only on hook for one pricey year.

The Lin offer looks much more reasonable when you can't say "Nah, we'll just keep Kyle"

Wait, so is that whole "hard cap" at $74mil thing coming into play or not? Because scanning NY reports and boards, they all think Dolan will match because Dolan will pay up. Does this mean they really can go as high as they want without any ramifications? Beyond just paying lots of money to the league of course.

So when the Knicks match I hope no one on here complains because everyone in this thread is fully expecting that they will. I don't want to read " OMG DARYL YOU SUCK THEY MATCHED OMG WHAT A LOSER" like they were surprised. Please Lord.

You mean you don't expect still another group of persons to call for Morey's resignation when NY matches?
