Dragic had full-control of the system, Lin had to endure a change in coach and philosophy and importantly, Melo and JR Smith came aboard in the middle of his 25 games with Knicks. Calculate Lin's number without Melo, it will show he will post better number. For Knicks good, he is better to be let go because they would have flexibility with next season's catch of C.Paul and for Lin's good, he would be better serve in Houston where his game can expand. Regardless Houston Rockets is back in the spotlight, we may not get Dwight, or Lin, but at least players around the league know we are not cheap.

Knicks really going to let Lin -- tradeable before contract gets crazy and $ generator supreme -- walk? Two more LONG days for NYK to ponder

Interesting that people think what Lin did over 20 plus games is insignificant but Kyrie Irving played a few games at Duke and was No 1 pick

I'm not arguing with you. If Dragic has been playing proball longer, was supposedly mentored by Nash in PHX, and had total control of our system, his stats should be a lot better than Lin's. They're only a little better; that's not encouraging for Dragic fans.

Dragic's gone and you guys needs to move on. Lin is the best PG available in the market.

So you are ignoring how well Lin played during that Linsanity streak?

How well? 6 turnovers per game, no defense.

he's trolling. he's some kid butthurt that his mom is Filipino or something. it says right above his post that Lin ahd 4.5 turnovers per game. and Lin's defensive stats are okay. actually above average steals, defensive rebounds, etc.

for example Lin had better defensive rating than Kyrie Irving or Chris Paul. More steals than Irving, more def rebounds than Paul etc.

Lin had some specific issues such as not fighting through screens, gambling and losing his man but his overall defense is at least average and much better than advertised

in any case, keep in mind that you're arguing with some 10 year old kid, who's trolling while on summer vacation

Not so simple. Not just a matter of trading him. Would have to trade him & not take salary back. Hard to dump a $15M contract without taking salary back in return. The problem isn't Lin, it's the luxury tax.

Any word if the deadline really is Tuesday on midnight? Last I heard the Knicks were still being babies and trying to stall.
