Say what you will about Lin, but it's been refreshing as hell to talk about something other than Howard the last couple of days.

So Morey couldn't retain the PG he wanted because he didn't want to give him the 4th year.

Morey let go our best PG because the said PG became disenchanted with the coach.

And now he desperately is trying to get the PG that most of us didn't want.

That MIT education has serioulsy ****ed up Morey's brain.

Didn't want to give him a fourth year PLAYER OPTION - which, are often only invoked when a player doesn't play well or deserve it.

Didn't "let go" Lowry - obtained a mostly likely lottery pick, which is much more valuable than Kyle Lowry. This was an excellent move seeing as Lowry would never get us to the next level. I'd have moved him too after the way he handled himself publicly (he's no superstar that can get away with that nonsense).

Disagree that "most of us" didn't want Lin. I didn't want him over Dragic (or Lowry with a good attitude), but "most of us" is likely still inaccurate.

Morey's "brain" is functioning just fine - IF, and yes I realize it's a big if, his plan comes together, we will be relevant and enjoying playoff basketball again.

If it doesn't work, we still maintain the flexibility that he always does.

For you... try some St. John's Wort. If I ever see a positive post from you, I'd think you were hacked.

It could extend to more than that... the Knicks could say they didn't receive the offer. :(

    typical Knick fan :

In the end I think there is one thing that I know. Jeremy Lin will regret how this played out. After experiencing teh unrivaled high of NY with the spotlight, the national attention, and all those possibilities opening up for him, Houston is going to be a tremendous comedown.

Why do Houston fans think Dragic is better than Lin and the Knicks fans think Lin has more potential/upside than Dragic? I don't think they're that different.

I know that, based on starts, Dragic's done a little better. But if Dragic's played at the pro level longer than Lin and was mentored by Nash, why are his starting stats only slightly better than Lin's? Shouldn't they be a lot better?

    In starts:

    Dragic: 28 GP, 18.0 PPG, 36.5 MPG, .490 FG%, .379 3P%, .839 FT%, 3.5 RPG, 1.8 SPG, 8.4 APG, 3.2 TO

    Lin: 25 GP, 18.2 PPG, 34 MPG, .445 FG%, .343 3P%, .796 FT%, 3.7 RPG, 2.0 SPG, 7.7 APG, 4.5 TO

Anybody know the exact CBS wording in this? There's a risk for the Knicks if they don't match by Tuesday. Even if they claim they haven't received the offer sheet. If they think they have until, say, Thursday to match and don't do do until Thursday, but it is later determined that it was Tuesday, their match will be too late. The nba could have a mess on its hands here unless there is clarity.

Dragic has better plays potential than Lin. I wanted to keep him too. But Lin is relatively close and more importantly worth more, and most importantly if he comes here will be the linchpin that gets Dwight to resign here if he is traded here. The china market may or may not be as good as the NY market, but it's better than anything else left open to him. Add that to the $25m extra for bird rights and we'd be in the driver seat if we get Lin.

I don't know about that. He really didn't seem the type to get caught up in all of that. He turned down most endorsements, GQ and People magazine covers, national TV 20/20, Dateline interviews that would've paid him big bucks and spread his brand. He doesn't have Steven A. Smith trashing him 24/7 ..everybody watching his every move. He just cares about playing basketball (and money to be comfortable).

That Knicks fan is delusional. Lin's HS coach, that he keeps in touch with was just quoted saying that over the summer, Lin turned down quite a few endorsement deals because they took up too much time. He wanted to focus on basketball. Coach also said Lin's working harder than ever.
