Man, don't get me started on BR. Who are those idiots on Google news that include BR as news????? Every time I search something b-ball related, BR comes up. So annoying.
Lin's going to have a big year, he's a great fit with D12 - much more so than the other available PGs. And he showed a lot of improvement already last year, not only in recovering from injury but also in skills and experience. Imagine if he gets his 3pt shot to a high level.
This is the kind of comment where I just shake my head. You obviously didn't read the rest of my posts in this thread and didn't understand what it is I was saying. Pointing out a weakness is not hating. I pointed out that Harden has a turnover problem he needs to work on too and I sure as hell don't hate him.

I just glanced thru the rest of the thread. As others had already pointed out, you're pretty wrong and biased.
I agree, Lin is going to have a good year playing with Howard, hopefully he will stay the next two years with us.
I only skimmed through the last few pages and agree with most of your points while at time also agreeing with some of the posters you are debating with. My consternation is, what does the value of your perception of Lin's turnover % rate, avg have anything to do with the topic of the thread?
What did I say that is wrong and biased? http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/p.../sort/avg48Turnovers/seasontype/2/order/false That is the list for QUALIFIED players in Turnoves per 48 minutes. What you posted was ALL players based on turnovers per game. Since not every player plays the same amount of minutes just showing there turnovers per game is next to useless. I was taking that concept a step further in saying that not every player controls the ball the same amount as every other player. Like on the Rockets, Harden shares a pretty big chunk of the playmaking duties meaning Lin does not have the ball as much as some of the other starting PGs of the rest of the league. That his turnovers are that high for a player with that much control to me points to a turnover problem. Not saying he can't get better or wont get better or that he is the worst player in the universe. Just pointing out that when someone says " he doesn't turn the ball over that much because he only averages 2.9 per game" they are ignoring a lot of factors.
Obviously this has nothing to do with the threads title Lin being a goner. I was just responding to an earlier post in this thread that was discussing Lin and turnovers and his comparison to others in the league.
Stephen A Smith hates JLin but say if he can be consistent the Rockets can be the top 4 in the West..If JLin play great this season of course they have no choice to keep him..All the rumors saying he will be traded was blowing smoke up in JLin haters butt..they not getting rid of him thats for sure..Why would they when he played slightly above average last season..Harden and JLin will just need to learn to share the ball and im sure they will work it out...
Don't you love the way Stephen A. goes out on a limb? Top 4 in the West if Lin is consistent. Wow, incredible. Guess what? IF Lin isn't consistent, he'll go to the bench and we'll still be top 4 in the West.
I know Lin as the 6th man would mean he would be a pretty expensive 6th man but I think if the Rockets started Beverley it wouldn't hurt them too much. Harden does a lot of the ball handling so the Rockets have the luxury to do it. Think about... Lin does better when he has the ball in his hands and is the primary scorer like he was in NYC when Anthony was injured. I think we would see more Linsanity moments with Lin as 6th man. I think if Lin and Asik ran the pick and roll in the 2nd unit they would tear up other teams benches. And if you see both lineups there are players who can get to the basket (Beverley,Lin) there are shooters (Harden, Parsons, Garcia, Casspi) and there are rim protectors (Howard, Asik) we would have everything we would need on the court at all times. What do you guys think? Starters: PG: Beverley SG: Harden SF: Parsons PF: Jones C: Howard 2nd Unit: PG: Lin SG: Garcia (i know hes a SF but he can shoot the ball) SF: Casspi PF: D-Mo or Jones C: Asik
you need all the great players to play as starters..Bev still need to prove he can be the main PG.. im sorry there is nothing out there that shows he can be better than JLin..He play with high energy aggressiveness which can be somewhat good but can get you in trouble..He will foul out quick.. i dont see him being as consistent as JLin..Just look how it went down at the playoffs with OKC...Dwight know JLin and what he can do. I am 100 percent sure he will pick JLin to feed him the ball especially if he knows what he done for Chandler..
You're right. TO/game is a pretty meaningless stat without other considerations. The best way to look at TO's would probably be to look at TO's/48 minutes (or 40 minutes as is popular at hoopsdata) in relation to their usage rate. I tried to do that at hoopsdata but I couldn't figure out how to do it. Just an example, a player with a usage rate of 10 averaging 2.0 TO/48 minutes would be considered more turnover prone than a player with a usage rate of 25+ averaging 3.0 TO/48 min. It would be interesting to see how Harden/Lin compare to other players this way.
