Ginobili made 14M this past season and Terry was making 11M on his last season in Dallas. If he really worked well as the 6th man, it could be worth it.
ABJ!!! ABJ!!! ABJ!!! Nelson is much older. Canaan is completely unproven. But just can't stop the hate: ABJ!!! ABJ!!! ABJ!!!
Lin is not going anywhere. Relax. It is good chance Lin will improve, and what would that make Morey look if it happens with other team. We all know Morey is not that stupid.
Here's a link to Morey's CSN interview after they landed Dwight: http://www.csnhouston.com/basketball-houston-rockets/talk/moreys-reaction-there-was-little-screaming Key quote relevant to this thread: "This move, obviously, is the most important one. And we’ll let the chips fall where they may. But we know that we’ve accomplished nothing, but we’re excited how things are coming together with James (Harden) and Jeremy (Lin) and Chandler (Parsons) and Patrick (Beverley) and Omer (Asik) and all the young players on our team that are going to contribute over time.” I know these are exciting times but please don't get too excited. The above quote pretty much re-iterates his Dwight meeting interview when he said "Asik and Lin are NOT AVAILABLE". This make sense as he'd want some continuity on this team. + he values Lin and Asik more than people on this board (especially the ABJs) and some elements of the NBA "media" do. I think our starting line-up is pretty much set. We just have to fill out the roster with some role players. Twin Towers Line-up Lin Harden Parsons Howard Asik J.Smith is a possibility if Asik wants out and he comes for $12m but I think he goes to Detroit for 14-15m. I don't know where all this Calderon and Anderson non-sense comes from.
Then why hasn't Jeremy peeped so much as a word recently? Some of the biggest news in recent Rockets history. I'm not as confident as you seem to be that nothing is up. Of course Morey will keep playing that hand like the true master NBA-poker player that he is!
I'm thinking Morey is eying Aldridge and will keep his assets for the time being close to his chest. We will probably add a cheap shooter here and there, but he'll go after Aldridge in febuary. We might sign a cheap PF for now.
Not necessarily. I think wherever he goes he will only be appreciated if he plays well. The Rockets fanbase are a special case because the Rockets cut him once already, and many Rockets fans felt humiliated at the time that a guy that they had thought of as a scrub made them look foolish when Linsanity happened, so they root against his success every chance they get so they feel vindicated and their original assumptions would be proven right. Everyone likes to be proven right and not proven wrong, it's human nature.
LMA I'm down for. I think he is the perfect fit for this team at the 4. I suppose he can always give the twin towers experiment till the deadline to work. or for T-Jones or D-Mo to emerge. Correct me if I'm wrong but LMA is an expiring and if wants out, POrtland will be desperate for a trade.
Maybe Lin is focused on his off season training and preparation for his upcoming Asian trip which is why he's not tweeting as much. Not a big deal.
Let me translate that for you in Morey speech. "Lin and Asik are not available right at this very moment in time, but if a offer we like comes along within the next 5 minutes or beyond they are gone." I mean Trade deadline, Morey seemed adamant that they weren't making any moves...then almost like a day or two later he trades Patterson for Robinson.
Does anyone not remember how Lin made Chandler look like the best player in the world for a few games there? I'm not sure Howard is too opposed to that sort of PG link-up play.
The fact that he's not tweeting anything does indicate that he's concerned about saying something than being moved. He's learned before that anything can happen. I don't think he was just too busy to tweet on something this big. Either way, I'm excited for this year.
