I would even take 50/40/75. The 3 pt percentage is the important thing for him. What was surprising to me was that Steph Curry was not part of the 50/40/90 club. Turns out the FG% got him. Too many of his shots were 3's. (not a bad thing!)
To put things into perspective... Garcia is considered an elite 3-point shooter, and the highest he ever shot was 39.8% back in 2008. His career average is about 37%.
Garcia isn't an elite three point shooter, he's just a very good one. Elite three point shooters have career averages above 40% and their peak seasons are typically over 45%. Steph Curry (career 44.7%) and Steve Novak (career 43.2%) jump to mind.
Korver and Bargnani don't have enough FTs to qualify. The only players who qualify and are relatively close are Jeremy Lin and Klay Thompson, and I mentioned them both in my post.
In the last 10 years, 26 guards have shot over 50% from the field with a minimum of 300 minutes played. Last season the only two guys to do it were Wade and Parker.
We are lucky to have torocan as a member here. A lot of times, after he replies to some illogical post, the original poster can't even respond.
When did "this week" start? The last 3 games (Mon, Wed, Thurs) he had 31, 34 & 21 pts, that's 28.6 in average. I didn't check the rest.
This Realistically he's going to be somewhere along the lines of 45-48%/36-40%/75-80%. I don't think he's going to be able to go 50/40/90. His shooting stroke looks very fluid this year and his elbow looks tucked neatly under his shot. If only he could tell Parsons to shoot at the height of his jump as opposed to releasing when he's on his way down..
This looks about right. His freethrows have always been in the upper 70's, that's almost definitely not going to be 90 by the end of the season. 50/40? Maybe, although his shooting 3pt shooting has dropped lately. Still his form looks much better, and I'm pretty sure he'll end up at least in the high 30s
