Yep, Asik of course was transitioning toward taking over and active offensive roll but - catching a midair alleyoop for a midair slam - is still something he is unable to do.

It was perhaps one of the most frustrating elements of the season, waiting for Asik to develop. Screaming at the TV for him to slam it with aggression and stop wasting his time.

etc.. I still think Asik is and will be one of the top Centers in the game ~ but he's still growing offensively.

I'll say one thing ~ he was the hero that one game when he buried free throw after free throw. That was poise. Crunch-time. AntiChoke.

I think Lin - Parsons & Lin - Harden have great chemistry and Lin - Howard will as well. Easy buckets and cherry pick that allll day errrrday!

Yeah. I hope to see more of these as well. Plus an improved 3 pt shot and we're good to go. Can't wait for the season to start.

Yeah, Thank you! I need me some real basketball actions. SL isn't cutting it.

Want to add about Linsanity - all that came after a lockout without training camp and he was claimed off waiver as the 15th man on the bench. Everyone on his team including Tyson and Amar'e (except a certain star) loved playing with him and to this day says it's the best and funniest bball they ever played. As Kobe said, talents like that have always been there because it just can't be developed overnight but people just overlooked it somehow. And I want to add that people continue to overlook his talents and judge him with a double standard and relegate him to a unfavorable/unnatural position while demanding of him an attainable expectation. But that just makes it so much more fun when he proves every hater and doubter wrong; and that day will be here very soon.

And I want to further add that Howard likes to have fun on the court. He is a fierce competitor but he wants to play fun basketball. And he will have fun with Lin on the court.

Agree, To run Alley-oop you need wing man running ahead of passer. Last year most of our fast break was Lin leading the charge. We may consider to script this to our play book with Parson and Harden running cutters.

It's amazing how fast Landry Fields disappears after leaving the Knicks...

you can argue the same about Novak, Jeremy made his teammates better, and gave them confidence. Hopefully he can rediscover that swag next season.

Alley-oops are a huge part of Lin's arsenal that went unused last season. The Bigs can't finish them consistently, thereby limiting this option for Lin. In general, the current Rockets team is no where near as athletic compared to Lin's 2011-2012 Knicks squad. Unlike Asik, Howard can actually do them, so we should see an increase in the usage of oops once they get their chemistry right.

It's not just the entertainment factor of alley oop dunks, but it's the extra offensive option they get out of it and something extra the defensive team has to look out for. Last season besides Parsons, there's barely anyone who consistently cuts baseline off the ball looking for alleyoop opportunities in Houston.

Remember early in the season Lin attempted these lob passes to Asik only to get turnovers. It was so sad.... Really Asik is a great defensive player but he'll never be a really explosive offensive one since he got no hops at all. It's also the reason why he doesn't get a lot of blocks.
