Bill and Bull have mentioned during a couple Rocket's telecasts that Lamb is 6'7" They also compared him to KMart and mentioned Lamb is taller and has longer arms. Is Lamb still growing? He is listed at 6'5" 1.96m on most websites. KMart is 6'7" 2.01M. This needs to be clarified. Perhaps some folks here have seen these guys standing next to each other...
Does that 2 inches really matter for his position? He's a natural wing scorer either way, and he still needs spacing from his defender to get his shot off. Its going to be much more challenging for him to score in the NBA than I initially thought. What really matters right now is what position he can defend. Can he defend 2's... yes. Can he defend 3's... some, in due time he should be able to defend most 3's. 4's....no, 5's... hell no. On offense whether he's 6'5" or 6'7" really doesn't matter. Either way, he's having trouble finding ways of getting in spots where he can get shots off. He would have to grow another 3 inches for that to make any difference in his game.
In general, height matters more on defense and rebounding than offense. Shorter guys who are talented can find ways to score, but they tend to suffer on defense. If Lamb is having trouble getting shots off, it has more to do to his ability than his height.
either way he has a 7'1 wing span which allows him to guard , rebound , and steal from players larger than him
It matters that someone is either lying or doesn't know what they're talking about. I can't remember seeing both of them stand side-by-side but I thought Martin was taller than Lamb. Lamb just seems taller because of his body-type and long arms.
He's 6'4 barefoot and 6'5.25 in shoes with a 6'11 wingspan. He has a long neck though, so his standing reach is only 8'6. Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Jeremy-Lamb-6380/
He's 6'9.5, so to call him 6'10 is perfectly fine. His 7'2.25 wingspan would suggest calling him 6'10 is more natural than calling him 6'9 (seeing as he is halfway between the two). If you're a pedant you could go for 6'9.5 --> but up to you.
lol - or you didn't know he was basically 6'10 when drafted. lol. lol. lol Oh wait I forgot, because he's a PF it's trendy on CF to pretend he's too short (even though we now have a 4 full size or taller PFs on the roster and just one 'short' guy in Royce White [I don't count Brockman since he'll be cut])
Yeah his neck gives him another inch. Still, his standing reach is as good or better than any SG in last year's draft. And as good as lots of small forwards. He reach is as good as Harrison Barnes and Moe Harkless listed at 6'8" and 6'9" in shoes. (Just to add, Austin Rivers is 6'5" and has a 8' 0.5". THATS a sure issue) But Lamb isnt 6'7" unless he grew
