Lamb only weighs 180 pounds, too light to play small forward.

I anticipate that Lamb will be a backup PG (defensively) and Parsons will be a backup SG, like he was last year guarding Kobe, with Royce White on the floor as the point forward.

If the offensive set calls for small ball, then it might work, because you have the element of speed on your side. The idea is to have the fastest players on the floor at the same time.

I could imagine him playing as pg(scoring) with Royce White on the court, but I don't see him as a sf.

This would be a good small ball line-up.

    Machado
    Lin
    Lamb
    Royce
    Jones.

Could possibly be a good two way line-up as well.

I think our backup PG as a defensive specialist will be TDouglas
Also I'd be surprised if Royce gets the reigns of the offence as a Point Forward in his first year.

I think he will be spending a degree of time with the vipers unfortunately

I think he should come off the bench in the small forward role.

    Durant, 6'9 235
    James, 6'8" 250
    Anthony, 6'8" 230
    Pierce, 6'7" 235
    Gay, 6'8 230
    Granger, 6'8" 228

    Lamb, 6'5" 179

That's why he is a SG

I don't understand why people keep wanting to put somebody else at sf.
I see threads for White to start at sf and now a thread about Lamb. Unless he is traded I'm happy with Parsons playing small forward for years to come. Rocket fans seemed to over hype him before and I think they have now swung back the other way. His play was very impressive as a rookie and I see him being even better this year.

Courtney Fortson weighs more then Lamb. Even still if Courtney Lee didnt/couldnt get time at the 3 then why should Lamb? Lee was a proven defender.

Theres this group of guys, 5 of them, who would really love to play with the Rockets. They're called the bench.

SG is his ideal position. If anything he looks like a pretty good passer so maybe use him as a combo guard when we wanna go big.

He's way to small. Lin and Machado each outweigh him by 20+ lbs. Not a good sign for a SF.

You're overestimating the importance of wingspan here, can be nullified quite easily if he's bodied up by invariably bigger and much stronger sfs..

Lee gets away with it because of his defense.

I can see Martin and Lamb sharing the court if the opposing team goes small, or if we fall behind and need to shoot our way back into a game. That's about it though.
