Dems just can't pull off the feigned, outrage snark like republicans

    via TPM --

Those wringing their hands about this were looking for a reason not to vote for Obama.

That is the interesting thing. If Wright's speech had been given by Dobson, Falwell, etc...there would be outrage and tremendous backlash against whichever Republican happened to be closeby.

    Double standard much?

And, likewise, those that are not wringing their hands about this refuse to accept any new information that might smear their candidate.

This business of candidate being define by people he associate with is just ridiculous.

Lets be honest. Jeremiah Wright represent the thinking of large segment of older African American. Some might argue that Minister Wright is right to have this line of thinking while others don't. But that is not the point.

That is NOT the way Senator Obama thinks. He is a uniter. He offers a chance to unite people like Jeremiah Wright with the rest of middle America.

One genuine advantage of Senator Obama is that he is able to be friends with people with opposite colors, opposite ideologies, and different races. Eventually, different sides will see each other's view points through him.

So he is comfortable with people with very different view points from him. Can somebody explain to me how is that bad?

Exactly. If Hillary Clinton's pastor was the grand wizard of the KKK it shouldn't be an issue. As long as she only aggrees with the religious aspect of his preachings all the other aspects should be overlooked.

I would not equate Jeremiah Wright with KKK grand wizard. Mr. Wright speaks the language of victim. His talk is very racial divisive. But he never talked about racial uprising or killing people.

My point is that there is a large segment of population that thinks like Mr. Wright. Senator Obama will be able to integrate people like Mr. Wright with the rest of America.

The problem is not whether Obama shares Wright's view or not. The problem is his judgment to let Wright to play a big role of his life for 20 years.

If that grand wizard married Hillary and Bill and preach to Chelsea on a weekly basis and gave her the title of her best-selling book, I am sure Hillary will be a goner.

I think now the only way Obama can get points coming out of this is to persuade Wright to apologize and disown his previous views. If he can really do that, then it can support his case of uniter.

Yes, it's not the same level, but his preachings were very anti-white and hate filled. And this should be an issue.

It should be noted that Ron Paul has said similar things in regard to 9/11 that it was due to American actions.

That is a good point that most campaigns run on vagueries and platitudes. I disagree though on how much most Obama supporters have focused on it because there is some meat in it considering that the idea of change as if you take his platform seriously, doesn't work with his idea of unity unless the idea is that most Republicans will give up on core beliefs.

I'm not supporting Obama in the primaries but I have little doubt he will do a better job than the current occupant of the Whitehouse. Frankly that's a pretty low bar.

I am talking about his Judgment, which he has build his campaign on.

Oh really, I guess Obama digresses with you, did you see the quick toss of Wright under the bus last night?

Dobson and Falwell would never blame America. America = God to that crowd...it's infallible.

They'd blame homosexuals and internet p*rn for 9/11.

Do you really think a half white/half black man who was raised by his WHITE grandparents (that he PRAISES) would think the same way as that idiot Wright? I have white ancestory (Im a black man) and Im married to a white women, so I very much understand someone of mixed race. I SERIOUSLY DOUBT the white people who have supported OBAMA (campaign people) throughout the years would have backed him if they believed he was a racist.

Black preachers do stupid things all the time, but you dont necessary throw the WHOLE CHURCH under the bus. There is always more than one pastor at a large church and the opinion of one doesn't necessarily reflect the views of all.

Psycho Harlem preacher goes off on Obama:

    <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/khuu-RhOBDU&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/khuu-RhOBDU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

It almost seems like an SNL skit type thing, but it appears to be real!

Don't limit your criticism to black preachers. All preachers do stupid things from time to time.... heck everyone does. And we all are capable of brilliance as well. Too bad life gets in the way of living...
