or, one might add, ask rev wright to marry him and his wife. is it unreasonable to assume that Michelle has come under the right rev's influence, and that might explain her comments re being proud of her country?

Yes, because I'm sure he is an America hater.

Pose the question 2 years before and he would've been like "dude i hate america, being in the senate sucks! down with america!"

Besides, from personal expirience, those quotes would only fill up like 0.1% of one sermon...out of many. Of course, it just highlights how desperate certain people are to find Obama sullied of something (and I do find it ironic that people are attacking his persona and not his points considering the surprsing ease there is to find flaws within his doctrines; just like with any politician.) no matter how loose the link is.

I just heard several clips of his sermons, and I must say, it does kind of make me irritated at Obama. As a member of a church, I can say that the pastor has a huge influence on me and if we were spewing hate, I'd leave.

In one of the clips I just watched, this guy said that AIDS was created by the government to kill black people.

    very good point.

This pastor is frightening and it's scary to think that somebody running for president would choose to listen to his sermons for the past 20 years. I doubt this issue will play well in middle America. Obama supporters will once again turn a blind eye to the facts and not care. They're still duped by his speaking style.

Exactly....so let's say this pastors comments are minute and a weak link as you say. Then why does Obama have to denounce him after supporting him? Most people would just ignore his crazy pastor/priest. How convenient Obama has to distance himself from his close influential pastor because of an election.

Guh...read what it says. Again. I don't see any "denounciations".

And Jesus, for a bunch of people who seem to care so much about Obama, you'd think you guys would attack the MEAT. Like his positions. Instead, the majority of threads here have been about his drug habits or his friends; face it, that stuff is weak. If you come up to me and say the biggest dirt you have on Obama is his pastor's "inflammatory rhetoric", I will laugh.

Seriously. It takes 3 seconds. I am pro-Obama, but the man's policy has some flaws that even I can see and dissect quickly in around 5-10 mins.

Fight for Fair Trade: Obama will fight for a trade policy that opens up foreign markets to support good American jobs. He will use trade agreements to spread good labor and environmental standards around the world and stand firm against agreements like the Central American Free Trade Agreement that fail to live up to those important benchmarks. Obama will also pressure the World Trade Organization to enforce trade agreements and stop countries from continuing unfair government subsidies to foreign exporters and nontariff barriers on U.S. exports.

Well, you can't get countries to do your will. Something for nothing is not a practical model in the world economy...if you fight to open up foreign markets to American advatage, then unless you have a really BIG cane, it ain't working unless you also open up the American market to foreign advantage.
Which really goes against Obama's whole "protect the American worker rationale."

Raise the Minimum Wage: Barack Obama will raise the minimum wage, index it to inflation and increase the Earned Income Tax Credit to make sure that full-time workers earn a living wage that allows them to raise their families and pay for basic needs.

Cue the whole minimum wage argument; I'm for increasing it, but I can clearly see why there would be a debate here.

    And etc. etc.

The man has a platform. A vision. And the capability to carry it out, the posiblity for a real change. And it'd be nice if people spent the majority of the time focusing on that instead of his personal life. Yeh, I know it won't happen, but it would be nice. If y'all read this post that would be nice too.

    *steps off soapbox*

Exactly. That's why I think he's a great candidate. The kind of stuff they are trying to use to attack him with is laughable. It is the most insignificant pile of dung I've seen used in politics.

Can you believe Michelle Obama went to Princeton and Harvard Law?!?

She comes off as unpolished to be having those degrees.

What message?? All I hear is Obama spouting off about "change". Hell, you can get non stop talk about "change" from any bum standing in front of a convenience store? "Hey man, can I hold a quarter" could be their campaign speech.
