I understand the point he was trying to make, but it had a racist undertone too it.I guess this election will be about following each campagin pastor to see what they say because obvious thats how the canidate feel the same way???????
If Obama didn't value the pastor's opinion, why would he continue to attend the church to listen to his sermons? Are you advocating that his church attendance is simply a front to mask his true beliefs?
Obama will have to address this in some fashion. Not because of the so called racist/religious overtones but the political and foreign policy aspect of it. "What!??! God Dam America?"" He's obviously a maddress attending, closet Muslim, no hand over the heart, antichrist that will betray our troops and surrender America to the terrorists. Freedoms Watch will have a field day with this.
Obama has praised at least one aspect of Rev. Wright's approach, referring to his "social gospel" and his focus on Africa, "and I agree with him on that." Sen. Obama declined to comment on Rev. Wright's denunciations of the United States, but a campaign religious adviser, Shaun Casey, appearing on "Good Morning America" Thursday, said Obama "had repudiated" those comments. Ho hum...now that the mud-slinging is going to people Obama associates with and not Obama himself, it feels less...effective.
And the fear of a politician is often shown in how many irrelevant skeletons people try to dig out on him/her.

Yeah, because a couple of quotes define 20 years... It's painfully obvious that OP was trying to slam Obama, without bothering to read the full article. Maybe I should go and collect some of Jeremiah's quotes about the Gospel and of his social agenda? Then maybe we can define Obama's candidacy based on the postive quotes of someone he asscociates with him, which once and for one, should confirm his positiveness. :/
But remember, Obama is basing his campaign on making GOOD JUDGMENTS. He's the man that deserves to be President because he makes good judgments right? So therefore, by his logic, Obama has good judgment to associate himself with and now distances himself from the very people he trusts? How is that good judgment? First he praises this pastor and credits him for his book but now all of a sudden is distancing and disagrees with him? So which is it? Was it good judgment to be a part of the Trinity Church? Or is it good judgment to distance himself from the very man who he praises? How CONVENIENT!
Omg, are you the "undecided voter" guy? Please don't make me list all those points Obama has made again ...But I guess it is nice to see the mud being slinged at Obama for what church he goes to rather then what war he dodged. A change of pace to say the least.
Honestly, I don't care what church he goes to. I don't think many Americans listen to their pastors/priests. I just find it "Convenient" that he praises a man for his book but now distances himself because of an election. How is THAT good judgment?
There's a difference between distancing yourself from a person and distancing yourself from a person's viewpoint on a particular matter.
