Have you heard George Clooney go on and on about her? Why do you think that she works with the top leading men in hollywood? I'm a musician and I respect her, and apparantly so does Ja-Rule, P-Diddy and others.

I think that a lot of you guys hate on beautiful women because you've never had one...

    ...or never been one.

For the record, I never said I wouldn't sleep with her. I did say I like Selma Hyeak for talent, and I don't think George Clooney is all that talented either, and I am not hating on him because I've never slept with a man.

    BITE YOUR TONGUE!

"I am a man, of constant sorrow and I've seen tro-ble all my days..."

"Are you a faithless preacher or a mean M F servant of God?"

"I only lied about being a thief"

    I could go on...

She was outstanding in "Out of Sight", but I can't think of another movie she's been in that I liked. Her music, otoh, just ain't my style.

I thought she was great in "The Wedding Planner" and "Out of Sight". My daughter watches "Selena" all the time so by law it has to be one of my favorites. Remember her in "Money Train" with Snipes and Harrelson?

"Maid in Manhattan" sucked but I enjoyed her performance.

Its funny you mention Clooney, because I have the same problem with his acting as I do with Lopez's, their demeanor is the same in every movie. Every movie he is the smart ass know it all leading man. Even in Oh Brother Where Art Thou, he was smart while his brothers were country hicks.

No doubt, but styles to the roles in a way that guys like Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves can't.

Plus Seth Gecco is probably my favorite movie character ever!

I dont' see her working with Daniel Day Lewis or Kevin Spacey caliber leading men.

P-diddy and Ja Rule aren't musicians. Ja Rule is a singer, P-diddy is a producer. But Im more of a metal, triphop, jungletechno type of person so my opinion can be considered biased when I say that Pdiddy and J lo have about as much in common with musicians as I have in common with Bill O'Reilly.

Like I said, her only good movie was The Cell. I guess her other movies would be considered well done by the same type of people who thought XXX was a good flick.

I like beautiful women, but by harping over the fact that Jlo is indeed beatiful it's becoming fairly obvious that is the only thing going for her..

The best word I can think of to describe anything Jlo does is probaly this. Forgettable.

Her music is meaningless and will be forgotten.
Her movies for the most part are meaningless and easily forgotten 2 months after they come out.
Her beauty is nothing special and it's easy to forget about her just by picking up the latest copy of Maxim, FHM, etc.

    Let's face it, fellas...

More than likely, she's popular with some leading men because, more than likely, she is a great lay and nasty as hell.

It doesn't mean she's a great actress. Meryl Streep is a fantastic actress, and is probably a pretty lousy lay!

Well i don't see Ja Rule breaking out a guitar or drumset. I apologize for referring to hiphop as singing.

Sean Combs isn't much of a lyricist. He's a good producer who knows how to blend samples of OTHER peoples music to go along with banal lyrics that rhyme and are easy to remember. I'll give him props for knowing how to make money.

I apologize for refusing to recognize Jennifer Lopez for the extremely talented individual she truly is. I can't believe this entire time I've been listening to singers like Tori Amos and believing that they had something to say. Truly since Jennifer Lopez had records go platinum I should have been listening to her inspiring music. I can't believe I was watching movies like American Beauty when I should have been catching reruns of the Wedding Planner.

I can't believe you guys are arguing the merits (or lack thereof) of Jennifer Lopez.

She scores more bank than most of us put together, and I don't see her bedding down with any of us any time soon.

It's cool to have an opinion....one way or the other.....but to continue to vehemently defend your position on this subject.....

.....well, it must be a slow day I guess.

Kevin Spacey is the most one dimensional actor on the planet! He is always some effeminate victim, who often dies at the end of the movie.

Tori Amos is one of my favorites too but people seem to equate critical success with good musicianship. I don't.

Do you have to be a guitarist or a drummer to be a musician?

wait wait wait!!! i'll defend your defense of j-lo...but don't ever, ever, ever call spacey one-dimensional again, my friend!!!!

seven and the usual suspects are two that come to mind where he doesn't fit your character scheme above.

I can't remember whether you live in Houston, which might be 'the fattest city in America'. I lived there for three years. I lived in Baton Rouge for a year. I *know* my fat people. Compare Kelly to your average Wal-Marter. Fat? Notsof*ckingmuch. Additionally, neither she *nor* Jack (who I would say actually *is* overweight) are 'fat' enough to experience health problems *at all*. In fact, people who are 20 pounds 'overweight' according to all these exacting standards are usually *healthier* longterm than people in the 'normal' weight range. (I use these terms in quotation marks because I don't think doctors are infallible here either - what they consider to be 'normal' weight has fluctuated a great deal over the period of modern medicine.)

Basically, what you're saying isn't a 'fact'. It's a matter of opinion. She's roundfaced and she doesn't have much of a waist and she has genetically big legs (large calves and ankles). She's just round and has a bit of flesh on her. *Not fat*. Fat is, like... bigger than that. :)

SJC: I check out the hot girls threads to see which of you I think is the most shallow and idiotic. ;)

Pole: you think Kelly dresses like a train wreck because... you wear khaki pants. :p

AB: here's why I hate JL, among other things: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/lopezrider1.shtml
I mean, of *course* she's hot. And she can *kind of* act. And if you like the music, then hooray. But she's still a self-satisfied obnoxious beeyotch.

(I believe Ashanti sang the chorus of those remixes of 'I'm Real'. Lopez just did the verses. Such talent!)

you must agree that the vunerable psuedo gay presence is always present, right?

    didn't he die in "Seven?"

he did in "American Beauty" and "LA Confidential"

Sounds like a lot Dim I agree, but the AGENT/MANAGEMENT are responsible for these things not the ARTIST.

This is probably her standard agreement that they didn't modify for the charity event, IMHO.

I with AB, if for no other reason than there are plenty of people who are in line for some well-deserved hate before some actor/singer/wiggler/whatever. ... except for Kenneth Branagh and Eric Stoltz, that is.

Anyway, if you're gonna start eliminating stars based on their handlers and their press releases and what they do in their free time, this thread is going to get enormous, and you'll be left with only one horrible person: Garrison Keillor,
