Nothing that looks good right now but some examples of where you can find last minute or one way rentals are:

    https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/specialoffers/index.jsp?targetPage=lastminutespecials.jsp

    http://www.budget.com/budgetWeb/home/hotdeals.ex?action=full

    http://www.arac.com/discount_rental_cars.htm

It takes some looking but check sites for Avis, Advantage, Hertz, Thrifty, Budget, Enterprise, National - they will all have links for specials

I am back at work on Sunday - I'll put one of my agents on it to see what we can find in the airline systems.

B-ball freak, are you a travel agent? If so, how much can you get me a roundtrip ticket from Houston (preferrably) to Sao Paulo, Brazil. I'm looking to go on December 26, 2006 and come back on January 11, 2007. The dates are flexible, as long as get there after Christmas and before New Year's and back before January 16th.

I checked for tickets a few months ago, and they were ridiculously cheap flying out of Dallas on American Airlines - something like $550 roundtrip including taxes. I checked again recently, and I can't find anything out of Houston (or Dallas) for under $1000.

I'll take a look but I am not a travel agent in the conventional sense. I help manage an emergency service whose clients are actually other corporate agencies, so we do not have direct clients (individual travelers). Therefore, we do not have our own CRS for booking and ticketing purposes - we emulate into our clients' systems. I'll see what is out there though, but on that type of routing and timeframe you probably want to check the discount sites as well as some of the South American carriers or even connections through Miami might bring the fare down.
