His contract is what made him such a poison pill ... he's overpaid. But if you can swallow the millions he's owed, he's a solid player who can contribute (especially defensively).

Jeffries had me at hello.... :p

But objectively, if you look at what he brings and what Shane Battier is bringing this season, can't you make the argument both are equally overpaid?

Agree with most, the dude is OVERPAID but still very good defensively. If the guy was being paid 3-4 million instead of 7 then he would be a fantastic role player.

I will take this kind of knee-jerk thread over those idiotic threads like "Who do you think is better - 2001 Tim Duncan or 1993 Hakeem or 1969 Wilt?" Ya dude, get a time machine!

Jeffries, Battier, and Ariza all make just about the same amount of money

their agents must have preached defense wins championships

at least Hayes has a manageable contract

Guy had a nice game tonight, he seems to be EXACTLY what we have been missing this season.

A presence in the middle, and athletic ability.

I'd still rather see Jordan Hill pick up those minutes they will be more useful in his development. If Jordan Hill was coming off of that High Pick and Roll those easy layups would have easily been dunks. But coaches are fixed toward winning now so I don't blame Adelman.

    I call fluke.

A double/double in under 30 minutes is NOT what Jeffries is about. You expect this the rest of the season you'll be disappointed.

STILL, he's a contributing player on the right team. A decent 8-9 man.

His contract isn't that bad. There are alot more stiffs in this league making more an doing less. Plus he is an expiring. I told everyone he was an asset and the better of Hill and him. But most said he was garbage. He gives us something we have lacked for a while length. My only problem is he has a terrible shot. Those missed layups are not a fluke. he will continue to miss them but on defense he was great. I don't know what his wingspan is but he played better d on david west than anyone else we ever had.

That's the point. he can contribute. he can back up the 5,4,3. And do it well! What more can you ask for I guy who we were paid to take.

He's the anti-Landry, decent defense and rebounding, no offense. Chuck Hayes without the post moves.

It's so frustrating when they're being out rebounded like they have been, it's nice to have that again, to some degree at least.

He can definitely play defense. I love how he's so aggressive at coming over and trying to block shots. It seems like it's been forever since I've seen that kind of aggressiveness.

We'll see what he can really do on Wednesday.

Landry wasn't a great Defender or rebounder too.

PF should avg. 8 reb. per game.

    Landry only avg. 5
