I'm sure given rest he is at least going to be a lot more accessible than last season. Tim Duncan is still an all-NBA player (2nd team this season), so he doesn't have to "revert back". No they aren't getting younger, but they definitely got rid of some of the old hags that were hanging around with this trade. They'll work themselves into some big men, I don't doubt that. I do believe they'll win 50+ games. They definitely can challenge the Lakers (assuming they are healthy) and besides Manu, they have been pretty healthy come playoff time most of the time.

Richard gives them a 4th weapon. If Manu goes down, they still have a 3rd scorer, something they didn't have this season when Manu went down. George Hill and Roger Mason are excellent substitutes in the back-court. Ime Udoka is a formidable back-up at the SF position. Their front-court is weak right now, but there is plenty of off-season left.

Would anyone like this trade scenario?

T-Mac and Landry and Cook to the Phoenix Suns.

Jason Richardson and Amare Stoudamire to the Rockets.

I just heard it on the radio, and I like that trade every time I hear it. The trades work out financially too. This piqued my curiosity.

I'd love that trade, but we'll probably have to throw in a future 1st rounder as well. We get a starting SG and PF. xD
    Will not happen, though.

Where? From who? Is this radio station or person that said it reliable? Ehh it is coming from the radio after all. I'm not sure I would do this deal but would take a long hard look at it and consider it.

I think this trade gives Popo much flexibility. Manu is an expiring contract, as well as Mason and Bonner. If Manu cannot stay healthy by deadline, Popo will push the button and they may land a good big now many teams are trying to go under the cap for 2010 free agency.

I wouldn't just assume they will find a serviceable big man. Outside of an aging Duncan, they have nobody on the roster that can guard Dirk, Pau, or Yao right now. At all. They are out of cap space and assets to pick up a useful front court player. Let's say they get Kurt Thomas, or Oberto back. They now have to pay luxury tax to pay them and they just aren't very good anymore. I am not saying this is a bad trade for the Spurs. They will be better. I just don't see this move bucking the long term trends with this team- they are old, lack depth and have too few athletes on their roster You completely overrate George Hill and Roger Mason, too.

I'd love to see us step in and grab Michael Redd in the same sort of a deal if we can. He is the guy on MIL I really want.

Good trade for the bucks. It clears salary and opens up several new options for them.It gets rid of RJ,Jefferson is old and injury prone, their offense was actually better when RJ was off the court last year. And it opens up time for one of their best youngsters (Luc MM) at his natural position. Also they can now keep both Sessions and CV.Now if Redd is moved in a similar deal, they will have a great offseason.

Couldn't we save the Bucks more than the Spurs will? Although many of those players have non-guaranteed contacts, McGrady's contract is insured and we would take back a bad contract to fill the 6 or so million left after taking on RJ.

Morey needed to get in on this.

Jefferson just turned 29 Sunday, has played and started every game the past 2 seasons and missed signficant time in 2 of his 7 seasons. I'd take that kind of old compared to the Rockets kind of old.

they don't need a forward for no if Drew Gooden is signed up to next season..Chances are Bowen, Oberto and Thomas will be bought out by the Bucks and resign with San Antonio by December

Assuming they do get Kurt Thomas back, which even for his age is still solid, there are big men out there to get. I do understand they are trying to avoid luxury tax, but I'm sure they are also willing to make the sacrifice if it will keep them competing for the championship. They do have Ian Mahimini(sp?) whom the Spurs seem to be high on, I wouldn't count on him amounting to anything but at least he will get a chance. Jamaal Magloire is attainable as well as perhaps making a bid for Rasheed. Although Rasheed is old, he is still a solid big man who plays good defense and has a good offensive arsenal. I don't believe he is washed up, rather he just got sick of the Pistons just like he got sick of the Blazers. I think he would be a good addition to the Spurs (although I wonder if he'll back off his 8M stance).

I still believe the Spurs are contenders. The only reason Dallas got past them this season was because Tim Duncan was not 100%. Perhaps their overseas talent will also pan out setting them up for the future. Too bad they missed out on that Greek center, I'm sure that's going to hurt them.

Maybe the Spurs are working to trade Ginobili for a big man plus filler? Now that with Jefferson as a 3rd scorer, i m pretty sure spurs are open to trade Ginobili!
