Bravo for the Spurs. It takes alot of guts to make a trade like this for such a small market team. Glad to seem them go for one last try at the championship before Duncan's effectiveness disappears.

Mr. Morey needs to take this development into consideration but I suggest he needs to just focus on what he planned from the outset and attempt to achieve his goals in this offseason.

It would be very sad though if the Rockets move backwards instead of forward as far as assembling championship talent is concerned. I believe his work is cut out for him and he is very much aware of it. Let us just all relax and enjoy the ride. It is going to be fun one way or the other this offseason.

Injuries really affect teams with older players- Boston/ Garnett

San Antonio is really going for all the marbles next year with this trade, Jefferson is injury prone and Duncan and Manu both have had their troubles.

Teams like Portland are more dangerous next season, they are younger and ready to take another step.

Yeah. I often wonder how they do things and why they are just so so good as a franchise.

Wow, now the Spurs look menacing barring injuries. The Rockets need to try and keep pace, first by resigning Artest and Wafer. I heard there looking for a PG, but I think a back up Center should be a priority because Mutumbo retired, Yao get injured alot and Dorsey may be undersized.

    This is r****ded.

Pop talked about the Gasol trade as being totally one-sided.

Today's trade with the Bucks IS the Gasol trade of 2009.

No one saw this coming. Out of nowhere *POOF* he's a spur. That's how the good GM's work.

Like Ron Artest to the Rockets last year when the talk was AI to the Rockets here on Clutchfans.

I think Morey and the Rockets will surprise us. In fact, I just know something will happen...

this team is now scary. now manu can just play 15-20 mins a game until the playoffs b/c RJ can man 35-40 mins if need be.

    we need more talent QUICK.

All those guys can actually play basketball, unlike T-Mac.

People, please note the difference between an "expiring" contract and a "partially guaranteed" contract.

Bowen's and Oberto's contracts (purely from a financial stanpoint) are MUCH more enticing for financially strapped teams than T-Mac's massive expiring contract.

That and a decent player, not great, but decent, because T-Mac is also expiring.
What is more scary is that T-Mac contract for one year is only 6 million less than Jefferson two years. So maybe no team would send a great great player.

I'm not so sure, will see how RJ fit with the Spurs. But I'm confident, in the Rockets making a move to improve the team....

Oh yea I forgot IN MOREY WE TRUST!!! :D

That´s right, and don´t forget they also have the label of good guys, team guys, that might help, something T-Mac hasnt.

I bet that the Bucks will reach a 3 million buyout agreement, by doing so this trade would be seen as a 14+14 millions for 7 millions dump salaary move.

And a dumps salary move that opens 3 roster spots, and saves you 6 millions from the start is a good one.

    1) manu does not start. and he will most likely get 15-20 mins for most of the year next year to keep his health. RJ can get those minutes at SG but also play SF.

eventually, u can play parker, manu, RJ, duncan, whoever down teh stretch. that's a scary lineup with guys who can score by putting the ball on the floor.

now we need a trade quick. hopefully we can spin tmac + something for caron. caron is our answer

As a Rocket fan, this move has to encourage you. Milwaukee seriously downgraded talent to save some $$$. Now imagine what Morey can get for a $23 million expiring deal that the receiving team might only have to pay half of (or less) this season!!!
