I would panic. This is an established team with a solid coach. I think RJ will just plug into the system. He is a good scorer and shooter.

This is the biggest steal since the Gasol trade.

I totally agree. It could have just been a bad fit, but Jefferson didn't look all that great for the Bucks. He's not quite the high flyer that he used to be IMO. Still, it does make the Spurs better, but I hardly think it makes them a lock to take home the trophy this year.

Just the beginning in Trade steals. PLUS Bowen will get bought out and go RIGHT BACK to SA. Kinda sucks but I'll wait to see what Morey does to answer RC.

I'm not sure the Spurs need Bowen anymore. It seemed like his minutes were already getting taken by Mason and Udoka. Now you just added Jefferson to that.

Props to the Spurs for making a great move. This gives them a 4th star player in their aresenal. With Manu swinging to the 2, this would give them 4 All-Star level players. They should easily be able to replenish their depth with veterans looking to join a title contender. Health will be an issue, but they they should be able to spread the minutes better now with the addition of RJ.
No need for Morey to panic, but it does make the arms race in the West more impressive. Hoepfully, we'll be able to put T-Mac's expiring contract to good use.

    great move..

RJ is a good player.. even if one guy among the big 3 of the spurs falls.. he can cover up and take up a scoring role..

and hey.. its the spurs.. they never make bad moves (Except for Scola)

Are the bucks releasing the spurs players they just got?!? Can the Spurs resign them?! I hope that doesn't happen.

I'm not really impressed with Oberto...now Kurt Thomas is a different story. He would be a great backup center for us. He plays great defense and is still really good on the boards. On offense he could fit right in. Think of how Hayes was used on offense this season - setting picks, making the pass out of the high post - except now that guy can hit the midrange shot that keeps his defender honest and frees up space for everyone else.

The way that Bowen plays is despicable and he's one of the few basketball players that I would be ashamed to have on my team. Sorry, I won't cheer on someone who results to drop kicks and knees to the crotch because someone's beating them.

I guess we are running short of good options.. :)

sucks man.. the West conf is very very competitive.

and i dont see RJ having trouble fitting into that team.. Pop wil ensure that everything is smooth..

That loophole is terrible without a doubt. This does make them stronger again. I don't Manu will be traded for a center, unless they are worried about his fitness.
I expect him to make a full recovery. It's bad for us without a doubt.

Remember the Kurt Thomas for Findley deal?

That's what will happen with Bruce Freaking Bowen.

Back to San Antonio he will go.

I actually would be more terrified if it was Al. We just can't do anything with that guy.

Yeah this deal is just the tip of the iceberg. It will be to NBA sell-off trade steals what the Kris Benson/Darren Dreifort contracts were to MLB ludicrous contracts for mediocre pitchers.

I'm glad they were the first to act though. It only shows that what the Rockets are looking for for McGrady + commodities will be even more valuable than that.

Great pickup for the Spurs. They essentialy added him for NOTHING, since the Bucks will assuredly send their guys back to SA. What i want to know is if Toronto wants McGrady to suit up for them again.

Bosh would do fine in red.

Mason can move to the starting 2 spot if Manu finds it hard to play along side Jefferson.
