He was too busy waiting for your next hyperbolic post. If only he could have finished the string of punctuation in time, he may have gotten us RJ. :(

The bad thing here is if the Bucks release Bowen and Kurt Thomas and they end up singing with the Spurs. The Trade would now be Jefferson for Oberto.

man, I seriously dont get why Morey couldn't have cash in here. Its going to be even worse than this. Its going to be Richard Jefferson for nothing. Oberto has just been traded to the Pistons and Pistons are definitely going to release him and his non-guaranteed contract. Now that is serious rapage. All THREE of them are going to end up back on the Spurs for sure.

    Revised Trade:

    Richard Jefferson + Championship

    for

Milwaukee to San Antonio Flying Southwest Airlines airfare $221.34

Thomas doesn't have a partially guaranteed contract so the Bucks might as well hang on to him as insurance for Bogut. They are now over the the luxury tax threshold. In essence, RJ costs them about 22 million dollars. Any big man that they sign would basically be paid double. They have never paid lux tax before. RJ is good for them, but this is definitely not a Gasol whooper.

Desperate move! This is their last gamble for the title during Duncan era.

If RJ doesn't fit, they would lose big. They wouldn't have salary space to resign manu next summer. They wouldn't be able to rebuild soon either.

Spurs had a coup here for sure, got RJ for exactly nothing (other than the $14.5M salary). Spurs got RJ for even less than Rox got Artest last year.

    Ugh!!

Will Spurs use their MLE on Bowen and KT? If not, chance is some other team can offer a slightly bigger contract.

They probably would release Bowen to save money, but I don't think they would release Thomas. He still can play as Bogut's backup. Or, he is an experiring contract, the bucks can trade him.

Just so we have a balanced overview on RJ's skillset, he's not a consistently good defender and is turnover prone as well. Still this was a steal for the Spurs.

I didn't say he was a "Gasol whooper" but that he is a solid option in case either Manu or Parker goes down. One of the Spurs biggest problem last season was not having a third scorer when Ginobili went down. Parker and Duncan were having to score a lot since they couldn't count on anyone else to produce. Although Ginobili is a lot more than Jefferson, my point is that Jefferson will for the very least provide them a solid third/fourth option plus a average defense. I know he isn't a Gasol type deal, but the Lakers at that time had a need for someone like Gasol, while the Spurs need as of now (assuming they stay healthy) is scoring options and some frontcourt help and they have solved one of those problems.

When RJ is your fourth option, you have a heck of a team. Ugh.
Hopefully, Duncan's decline accelerates big time this coming season.

Familiarity, chemistry and a chance to win again the ring, are enough for Bowen and/or Thomas to sign back with the Spurs. Both players are getting up their in age and winning might be all that matters.

now that Ron's agent will use this as leverage to get more money out of Les' pocket

and teams that are we are gonna be dealing with would think Rockets is desperate, and would ask more from us :(
