How in the world did Jared Jeffries get 6.8m salary? 1. Donnie Walsh was drunk 2. Jefferies had blackmail tape on isiah thomas.... 3.typing error on contract by adding extra zero meant to be 680k 4.All of the above 4.this thread sux big time like that Bosh scola nickname thread
Not sure but didn't the Wiz give him the contract and then, for some reason, Zeke traded for him? Edit - Scratch that, Zeke signed him to an offer sheet and the Wiz declined to match...should have known better.
All of the above including: Potential based on days in college Wasn't Jared drafted fairly early? Maybe Isaiah thought he would become something great.
Jefferies was a glue guy on that Wizard team, and never looked for his own shot. For some reason, Isaiah Thomas saw potential in him and gave him a full MLE. Even worse, he gave Jerome James a full MLE the year before because of a couple good playoff games . There is a reason the owners want to get rid of MLE in the new CBA. It generates so many overpaid players like Jason Kapono and DeSagana Diop. Compareed to them, signing Ariza for full MLE is quite a steal.
Lol.... Someone start a thread about this guy in the feedback... Maybe we can get his facebook page....start some photoshopping Clutchfans will eat you alive kmav....id be careful BTW....its 1-2-3-4-5 WTF?
How much was owed to Jefferies this year again? He was a pretty good player on defense; I think he drew the most charges in the league or something. Granted, he wouldn't be my first, second, nor fifth or sixth option on offense, but he was stellar, defensively.
Jeffries is physically strong and a good defender.I guess that's why his salary is like that. But now he's just wasting Gatorades.
to get back to the topic, i think a lot of people thought jefferies would be better than he is. he was amazing in college, he did it all. plus he went to U of Indiana... and Isiah did as well. coincidence, i think not.
I know Jeffries has been overpaid and overhyped, but I actually like this guy for Houston. I believe he can be that player we use to create mismatches defensively. I can see him in sort of a Grant Hill role with Phoenix on this team. He can guard every position, He's a blue collar type of player, can hit the occasional open jumper, and will take charges. I certainly would rather have him than David Andersen, who can't defend squat and hes better offensively than Chuck. I believe you need players like Jeffries, Battier, Ariza, etc. to run people off the perimeter. In the last 10 years, every championship team has those one or two guys on the team whose intangibles were the difference in the team winning and losing.
He made that thread too. He messed up the number system then, I'm pretty sure he is just doing it in this one for the lulz.
