I still remember how angry James Harden got at Bzdelik for taking a timeout in one of those games he was filling in for D'Antoni, at the end of the season.
The main issue is that Jeff simply does not have a last name that an American fan base can relate to. PR Relations manager Roy Randall cited to a lack of vowels as one of the main reasons for this.
It's bullshit, that's not based off of any inside info whatsoever. It could be, Codman is not even sure and he's much closer to the Rockets.
yeah i remember posting how bad his coaching was the last game at OKC and that with MDA not sick we win that game easily
its fine to speculate that maybe he didn't want to return, maybe James didn't get along with him, or whatever other reason. I'm worried about our cost cutting owner actually spending money to replace him.
Here's all I care about. Do the Rockets have a replacement for Bzdelik? Do they even intend to replace him? I actually don't mind them getting rid of him if he was iffy about returning and was the kind of guy who could up and quit on the eve of the regular season with no prior notice. Better to just go with someone younger and more interested in a long-term commitment to this organization. Here's one other thing I'm curious about. I don't deny Bzdelik's role in this team's success over the last couple seasons. But he came back to the Rockets fairly early on in the season, yet they didn't really improve defensively(at least not significantly) until after the All-Star Break. Sure, injuries played a role in some of that, but why did it take a couple of months before things turned around given that the personnel was mostly the same from a year earlier?
Rockets talked him out of retirement.....Jeff came back but was his heart in it?.........contemplating retirement again.......Rockets made the decision for him so this doesn’t drag on. If you have to think about staying.....then you are probably not staying. Let’s move on. Plus you give him non defenders and ask him to have a top 5 defense. Making the guy work too hard.
You guys really believe that....Geez...he was gone. MDA unlocked James, helping him become one of the best of all time. And, he's had the Rockets pushing one of the greatest teams ever assembled to the point where they need obvious/audacious help from Adam Silver and his minions. We would've been miles away without him....instead of close enough for folks to scrutinize the things they are. Talk about throwing out the baby with the bath water.
What is Mario up to these days? He hasn't been an assistant in a while, right? I'd love for him to join D'Antoni's staff. And I'd certainly have no problem with him being the heir apparent to the head coaching position(assuming he wants it).
