I'm guessing not a lot, from everything I've read. It looks to me like a CD/Morey decision. If JVG was calling the shots on the draft, we'd probably trade that pick.

The closest player who can be thought as a slasher and has size is Brewer.
    Backup PG Marcus Williams.

What about Brewer as a backup point guard?
I'm just wondering if RB's stock might be on the rise.

That's the great thing about Brewer. It's possible he could play three positions for us. Though that would be a tremendous responsibility for a first year player.

Can someone recap? I saw the earlier thread that was deleted. Did JVG add anything to it? If not, a recap would be nice for people who missed the earlier thread and didn't hear the interview. Charlie is a good interviewer so I know some good questions were asked.

So on 790 JVG said he wants a slashing guard and not necessarily a shooting one. And from "the" topic earlier he said Ronnie Brewer was a slashing guard. Hmm....

Interesting how JVG is being diplomatic about Marcus Williams saying perhaps a "backup"...right......could be a smokescreen though and we take Shelden.

    JVG does have input.

"Usually in all these decisions everyone is weighing in," Morey said [in the Chronicle]. " It translates to conversations that Dennis, Carroll and Jeff have and discussions about who to target. It's not one answer or another. It's generally a continuous process."

Morey might have some Van Gundy in him

If I remember corectly, Cuttino started out at PG. Not the best of situations in that casem though.

If he's looking for a slasher, then Maggette is the man. Juwan and #8 to Orlando, #11 to the Clippers, and we take back Keyon for the TE.

Picking up Maggette while getting rid of Howard would be amazing.

Last year of his contract, he said he would rather trade the pick for a veteran, isn't really involved in the draft or setting up the roster, and has been asked by Les to be nicer and less negative.

If he wins, he stays, but I guess he is toast.

JVG says they need size at the SG, slashing ability, backup PG, and he puts a premium on body fat %'s...

    Ronnie Brewer
    Size: Check (6'7" 223)
    Slasher: Check
    Backup PG: Check
Low Body Fat %: Check (5.0%)

I can only hope this actually means something.

By the way, Marcus Williams might fit the first 3 categories (good size for a PG) but his body fat % leaves a lot to be desired (12.5%).

I for one would be interested to know how you reached this feeling about JVG?

Looks and sound like Brewer and Rajon Rondo ( or a PG who is lower down- who is quick, a taller Farmar). I have a feeling CD and Morey will trade down- to address 2 of the slots ( SG, PG or PF)- Would it not be great if it is Brewer and Shelden- Brewer is not Roy but I think I would be happy.

JVG never talked about getting another PF from the earlier post.

need a big two and a backup 1.
