Then, he proceeded to step it up a notch and miss 70% of his shots the rest of the series and have his team eliminated. My savior! :D

Never made it out of the first round. Never saved any team from a first round exit.

    I'm conflicted about Bonzi.

When he signed I thought it was a great pick-up, manna from Hoops Heaven. I was wrong.

When the trade deadline deals were being discussed in print (and on the 'net) all the scenarios were give-a-ways IMO and I was glad the Rox balked.

Now that it appears that Bonzo's Rox days are over I regret they received no asset for him.

For a myriad of reasons Bonzi is a bad fit for the Toy Shop. However, I hope he finds his way, his motivated way, onto the playoff floor and helps propel the Rox onward.

hes a chump. gundy is winning without him. let the looser sit in his street clothes, he has no desire to win let alone play. i would rather jl3. just needs to learn to run an offence an not throw bounce passes to yao

Bonzi Lovers say we need Bonzi in order to advance past the first round. It seems that the opposite is true.

It's ironic that the only team he has been on to make it to the first round was the 1999-2000 Trailblazers. They did it while he was riding pine for most of the first round(played 5 minutes and 3 minutes in 2 games).

Every first round playoff series, where he has play more than 10 minutes, they were eliminated.

Yet, if we bench Bonzi, the Rockets do the same thing as the Trailblazers and have him ride pine. The Rockets are criticized for not wanting to win.

You can take it phrase by phrase or word by word.

    It is plain to see
    Tmac is in Love
    With JVG

    There's no denying
    I can't complain
Tmac has got ice water in his Vein

    Yao is the man
    He's the Big Wall
Without him, we can't win it all

    Silly :)

If you're labeling me as a Bonzi lover well, you're just being facetious. Your conclusion is ridiculous though since it could be argued in much the same way that Tracy has played close to 40 minutes in most of his playoff games but has never gotten out of the first round. Now I don't believe it's solely his fault since most of the teams he's been on have been mediocre at best but it's just applying the same logic you're using.

Luther Head, Kirk Snyder and JL3 are unknown commodities at this point. I've been disappointed in Head since for the better part of his run he has played with savvy beyond his years. But now he's been looking very hesitant and not as solid as he had last year and the early part of this season. Maybe too much is being asked of him to play the backup one. Snyder isn't going to play much if at all in the playoffs, imo. He's a nice player to have for his athleticism I just wish he knew how to use it. And JL3 is a novelty player at this point. He'll give you three - five minutes of decent basketball then when the sets aren't working he will go into mason mode.

It's scary when you actually want Rafer Alston back in the game.

Last night our bench contributed 2 points. Granted there was no Head but it's not good when a player who hasn't even been himself the last few months is really that big a difference maker. That’s not going to work against the Spurs, Mavs, and Jazz of the world.

Bonzi isn't going to make or break this team. I don't expect him to log heavy minutes as long as JVG is running things and I have come to accept that. I believe Gundy has already earned his extension and he'll get it no matter what happens in the playoffs. He's just done too much good this season which should garner him COY honors.

I'm not trying to harm what Jeff has done by believing that Bonzi could help. Yet, the argument that has been brought up thus far against bringing him back is really thoughtless. That same assetion can be applied to almost every other player on that roster.

Great post.....If we're going to get Bonzi into the rotation, the time is now.

Last night would not have been a good matchup for him because there is no way he could guard Kobe or Odom, but there are nights where I could definantly see JVG giving him the nod.

San Antonio, Dallas, Phoenix, Utah....I could see Bonzi being effective against all of those teams. I hope he's ready and willing to play because our bench is just not getting it done right now.

JVG has a double standard measure for all the players. In begining of the season he said Bonzi needs to get in shape and then he can get back into the team, but when Yao was coming back ferom injury, he said he needs him ASAP and he can get back in shape while playing and that is the only waty a player can get back in shape. Why Yao and not Bonzi?
