Well, for those of us who don't want JVG in Dallas, he turned down interview and said he wasn't interested http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcon...avs/stories/050208dnspomavscoach.3935159.html Meanwhile, Jeff Van Gundy, whose 11 seasons as an NBA coach were spent with New York and Houston, and former Mavericks assistant Del Harris said they weren't interested in the job.
No credible coach should touch that Dallas job. To have a monkey on your back like Cuban would get quite depressing.
awesome. wonder why del harris doesn't want the job. if mark cuban can't get along with anyone maybe he should try coaching himself.
Haha, Cuban is a big problem but not the only problem a coach will think about before accepting the job. The current Dallas Team has a veteran team, that were supposed to be elite the past 4 years. Any new coach can not really implement their game plans on veterans like Jason Kidd, Dirk and Stackhouse and if he tried too hard, he will be called a dictator like Avery. Who wants a bunch of under achieving veterans that are mostly past their prime, the only good thing on that roster now is Brandon Bass and maybe Terry
The Mavs and JVG would have been a match made in hell. That is a team full of soft players and having JVG,a coach who insists on his players being tough and strong minded would have been a recipe for disaster. Its good to see we arent the only ones who sees that. It would have been career suicide for him to go there.
JVG is the man, now if only he would punch mark jackson in the face everytime he tried to talk smack about houston
I think it's a little more damning that Del Harris declined the interview. I'm sure Harris is doing well for himself, but he certainly isn't in the limelight right now and he knows what goes down behind the scenes in dallas.
