The continued obsession this board has with Jeff Van Gundy reminds me of Elvis sitings. When the hell are some of you going to realize...as a Rockets coach he's as dead as Elvis.

He can be "head coach-Home" so he wouldn't have to travel. Then when the Rockets go out on the road he can either Skype his instructions via a large LCD monitor on the sidelines or we can hire a guest-coach in each NBA city depending on who is available.

JVG is not coming back to the Toyota Center unless he is calling a game for ESPN or the head coach of another team.

A coach may begrudge a city that lets him go. But JVG still loves Houston.

I think Morey is working on the guest-coach angle. ;-)-

That's the kind of outside-the-box thinking I can get behind.

JVG is a damn great coach, he knows how to utilize his players and stress defense. If I remember correctly didn't he start giving free tickets to Rockets fans to have better attendance, it became Red Rowdies. It will be sad if he leaves Houston to go to coach a different team, I will miss hearing him rave the Texans on national TV even when they are bad, or see him at Astros, or Rice games. JVG will not be an assistant coach unless it is for USA Basketball Team.

JVG doesn't want a nasty rebuilding exercise this far into his career.

The only place he's going is with an established superstar and vet supporting cast in place.
