i am not that up in arms about it nor do i really understand why it's a big deal. It's a freaking joke...and possibly even a little motivation for his team.
59-0 -7 yards passing. Couldn't hurt. It might not hurt to stick him out there on defense at this rate.
If Tom Landry can get fired, so can anybody. I think Fisher was just joking, but I am sure there is a big part of him that wants out after 15 years. I would take him in a heartbeat.
If Fisher does go, I'd say there's a 99% chance he finds a warm seat in front of a television camera next year. I guess when you're 0-6, and you play increasingly worse games, you gotta find something to get you through the day.
lmao. that's the best you can do? "I hope we pull a tard move and fire our great coach, but don't expect him to coach your team!"
why would Texans fans want Fisher? it's taken him 15 years to accomplish nothing. I like Jeff Fisher as a person, but as far as coaching.... he's the Jerry Sloan of the NFL...do you think Rockets fans are dreaming of Jerry Sloan coaching the Rockets? no Fisher. No thanks. do not want.
He should thank goodness Ladd Herzeg isn't in the corner office, and Kenneth Stanley's in semi-retirement. Oail Phillips could tell him a thing or two about "team violations." As could Lou Rymkus, Pop Ivy, Jack Pardee, Jerry Glanville, Sid Gilmann, Sammy Baugh.... Jeff Fisher's certainly earned his long tenure, but a losing coach directly or indirectly mocking his team seems instantly fire-able: very difficult to tell if he cares enough to overcome incompetence and adversity. Really not smart when Jon Gruden is still out of a job. I guess if the ownership, coaching staff and players all are genuinely amused by it, god bless 'em. "It's only sports, and, hey, we're all rich!!!!"
I know this doesn't deserve its own thread so I'll ask it here: When was the last time a TV commentator quit his daytime job as an analyst/show-man to become head coach of some struggling team ? I don't recall it ever happening as people are saying about Gruden, Cowher, etc.
Parcells, Ditka, Vermeil, Gibbs (I think), Jimmy Johnson? And Sammy Gravano might want to restore his name after his Lions tenure.
sadly for Jeff, the Texans would be an upgrade for him right about now. ask yourself who you're rather work for....Bob McNair or Bud Adams
The Texans could get any coach they wanted if you pay enough. He would also likely get full control of the team and not be forced to pick bust QB's that the owner wants.
Now this is funny, if you think Texans fans wouldn't want "nothing" as you put it. Take a poll and see if they would trade what the Texans have accomplished, which literally has been nothing or if they would be pretty happy with 6 playoff births for a total of 11 games with a 5-6 record and 1 superbowl game. Ask any fan, coach, player or person with half of a brain. if they would rather make it to a superbowl and lose, or never make it to the playoffs.
