All this proves is there's pretty much no reason that anyone needs to have this amount of wealth. Billionaires should be shamed unless they make similar pledges. You literally can give away half of your wealth and still get to live a life of maximum luxury. That extra money is just excess all while there are people that are struggling to make ends meet. A better option would be to just raise taxes on the rich, by a lot.

Exactly! 'Money' isn't a tangible thing to people like Bezos. It's a number. It's leverage. It's power. I have zero issues with anyone building their own empire from nothing...which is straight up what America is ALL about; it is the American Dream. Anyone can be Jeff Bezos in this country. At any rate, the guy committed 2B last year to charity to benefit homeless and low-income schools. Bezos Philanthropy.
