Hahaha, nah he’s my dude. Just seen a lot of complaints online about his commentary. I think it’s fine
He does not have a voice for radio, it's low, hushed, monotone. His knowledge and commentary are of course good, but his vocal delivery is pretty awful. Outside of that, there are times when he starts talking over the other broadcaster. He just needs to talk a bit louder, and excitedly.
Didn’t know he was doing commentary. I don’t like the Astros commentators, so never have the volume on if I’m watching,
Very casual, I started watching in 2020 because of covid (all the free time). If it weren't for YouTube channels like this https://www.youtube.com/@chiligaming64 I would not be able to follow the team, having the whole game concentrated into less then 20 minutes of action is much better for my basketball fan brain.
You can still respect his regular season playing days while criticizing everything else... he's Clyde Drexler of the Astros without the ring.
He doesn't have the look for TV or the voice for commentary. He also doesn't have the brains for a front office job. Why is he still around?
He probably wouldnt be great full time but these little cameo appearances are good. I appreciate some of the insight he provides.
He has good insight, better than I would have expected, but his delivery isn't very good. Some people have the personality for broadcasting, and some don't. He could probably develop if he wanted, but I'm not sure why he ever would. He has absolutely no need to ever give a **** about broadcasting.
