You don't think most players were taking PEDs? Ken Caminiti claimed at least half did. Tom House claimed half a team's pitching staff was in the 1970s. What reason do they have to lie? With Canseco you could say he was trying to sale books. They've caught a few superstars. The ones that have been caught tested positive when they were supposed to be secret with 2 stars have tested positive since. The other stars that have been caught, have been caught by FBI investigations. We only even know about Mcgwire because he openly admitted it 10 years later. Nobody has been caught for something that they did in the 90's, 80's or 70's. I've become of the opinion that every player should be judged on what he did in respect to the other players in their era, since we don't know who used and who didn't.
This is what bothers me about writers keeping players from the "Steroid Era" out of the HoF simply because they played in that time. No one knows when it started. To simply say that "any player that played from 199?-200? won't get my vote" is a bunch of crap.
