In 7 starts, no less. He has big-time potential. Four 68-yard+ TDs this year. AJ has three.... in his career. Just sayin'...
Yeah...I know the stats look pretty. He also has Hakeem Nicks / Mario Manningham to draw the REAL coverage, and is on a Pass Heavy team with a slinger at QB. The 7 games started is deceptive, because Cruz played the slot for a majority of the season (moved to #2WR when Manningham was injured). The stats are impressive nonetheless and he fits the Giants offense to a T. BUT..Until the guy is the primary focus of the defense...you cannot compare him to the greats. Imagine Victor Cruz replacing AJ Green at Cinci. Would he put up the same great numbers...not even close. Would he put up AJ Green numbers...I highly doubt it. I guess my point is...great season...but to start saying he is an emerging top 5...I will place my bets elsewhere.
AJ never had the talent in WR that Cruz had this year, if you change places between AJ and Cruz, I dont think Cruz would have the same stats.
