He did not look like Daishen Nix at all out there. I'd also add that his three point percentage may be skewed by the fact he's the #1 option in the G League. They will have a man in his face at all times, if not a double team. Here, he'll be the 5th option every time he's on the floor. So while I'm not expecting him to morph into Buddy Hield, I won't be surprised if his shooting looks much more respectable here.
That's the difference between makes and misses, I guess, when one game defines the canvas. Let's put him in the Franchise Player pile, rightfully so. I mean, he made them; he didn't miss. All that matters in the one-game that other fan bases might be deluded, we establish accurate expectations consistently.
I don't think its over-reacting! He's played well everywhere he's been. 1) He played well in college. 2) He played well in Boston but they had too many players in front of him. 3) He played well in the G-League and earned MVP.
