you guys are so small minded, avoid the Jazz? For what? what are you afraid of? we've beaten them 2 game as well. Calm the hell down, we just whoop spurs the other day, its hard to get a win in Utah period. Avoid the JAZZ? I want to see them in the first round cause beating there arse in the first round is the sweetest joy next to getting the championship... bunch of little weak minded people... lower and wafer and artest had a bad night, thats all, now grow some balls and bring on the Jazz

no one wants to face the Jazz but there still should be some team to face and kick them outta the playoffs, obviously the rockets are not fit for that job, or any other soft team for that matter.

In our paint we have the combo of Yao and scola which is even nicer than the same positions of celtics or spurs, those two guys can run the game well in the regular season but they will definitely suck in the postseason. Utah Jazz are just a scrub team made up of 15 thugs and hobos who are all stronge enough to be street fighters, their beefy body and dirty style are always their trump to beat rivals especially when the refs are relaxed. I mean the Jazz is really an unstoppable team if the refs loosen the rules, and the rules are regularly loosened when the postseason comes, so there is no wonder the Jazz beat us in the past two straight years though our team is surely more talented than them.

I know it's not a good thing to play dirty basketball like the Jazz does, and we don't have so many guys to play that kind of basketball, but we still have some... we need some toughness and vulgarity in the paint to cope with Boozer and Okur who both have inherited Carl Malone's legacy of playing dirty basketball. I think the combo of yao and hayes should appear in line-ups while scolandry plays off the bench, our team can play some run-gun minutes while scolandry are on court, when yao is on court we only need to give the ball to yao and let him blow out the Jazz's paint. Hayes is not good at offense but his defensive play is even more pressing than the Jazz's, even shaq has problem when facing chuck's defense. Yao and Hayes are very enough to play decent games respectively on both ends.

For sure Ron will also play a big part in the playoffs, I just suggest Ron limit his shots to share more shots for yao who is more efficient than him. Ron should consider yao as our no.1 option in offense and let him attack the rim more when yao is on court, of course Ron should take more shots when yao is resting on bench.

Yes, an overtime win at home over a Jazz team sans Boozer/Milsap/Okur, on a night where Yao was shut down down the stretch by some 20 year old reject, is cause for jubiliation.

While the rockets try to avoid the jazz at all costs in the first round, the jazz are trying to position themselves to play the rockets at all costs in the first round!!

What happened to those chest-pumping-internet-tough-guys who call everyone soft? What happened to those claiming to hate Jazz and their fans with a passion great Rockets fans? Avoid Jazz at all cost? LOL.

We are so great and so tough, and we hate you so much, but we are just afraid of you, so we don't want to play against you? Some tough guys.

It's important for Rockets to advance in playoffs, but that should be based on their play and fight, not hoping and praying they get lucky. If Rockets players are all mental midget like some of the "fans" around here, if they can't even have a little bit faith in themselves to beat the Jazz, they don't deserve to advance. It's not like trying hard to get better seed and home court advantage, so you avoid Lakers and Spurs in the first round. Geez, to avoid a low seed team because of "matchups"? It's playoffs, you don't get to play Grizzlies. Even that wasn't a guaranteed win.

I want Jazzholes at all cost, and I want my team to beat them fair and square and sound.

Ditto. It would be sweet to take them out.

Last night wasn't pretty, but I think this team can be beat. Even in last night's game, if Landry was there and the second unit gave us some points, it would've been much closer.

I would, however, prefer seeing them in a later round. It would be too physically taxing to play them in the beginning of the playoffs.

The rivalry is so deep, even young Jazz players like Ronnie Brewer rise up to play the Rockets.

His season line against the Rockets in four games is 20.2 PPG on 59% Shooting...not to mention the shut down defense. Quite a player.

Just what we need...another Rocket Killer. More reason to avoid playing the Jazz.

I don't see how our fans are crying about 1 loss at Utah. We are 2-2 against the Jazz this season. We played horrible last night, missing layups and our shooting was horrendous, we will lose against any top teams shooting the ball so horribly! We need to keep winning and not try to avoid them!

IF YOUR SCARED GO TO CHURCH!!!!!!!!!!!!

To be the best, you got to beat the best! If Utah stands in our way, so be it we will just have to get it done. This team has more heart and passion than any team in many years. Maybe game 7 in 07' playoffs, if we played with this much passion we could have secured those rebounds and won the game!

Yes, let's avoid Jazz at all cost. The matchup is so bad that it seems they were built only to beat the Rockets. They'll lose to any other playoff team in the first round.

Think about Rock-paper-scissors. If Rockets is Rock, Jazz is the paper, all the other teams are scissors. Let the paper be cut by any scissors, then the Rock will win all the rest.

The Lakers might be another paper, so hope another scissors like Spurs can remove them for us.

It's not just this season, there's a history here over the past two years. It's also relevant that the only two times these teams have had their full squads together this year (ie, the two teams that will actually meet in the playoffs) the Rockets have been outplayed no differently than when they knocked us out of the playoffs the last two times. It was like watching a repeat of the two playoff series...brings back bad memories.

The best possible scenario is that the Rockets are the 2 seed and the Jazz and Spurs are the 4/5 so that the winner of that plays the Lakers. On the Rockets side, we would have portland, denver and NO which favors the rockets a lot more.

We can try getting out of the first round before even thinking about being the best.
